Is there something I should know about pink socks? Are they some symbol or something?

The reaason I ask is I have a pair that I wear once & a while & if I have them on & meet a lesbian she is always extremely complimentary about them. More so than I would expect or get for other items of clothing. The first time I just thought she was being friendly or whatever but another time I wore them & met a different lesbian it happened again. I'm meaning meet like having a lengthy conversation kind of thing, like that. Not like passing in the street. For what that's worth.

The two are different types entirely. So I'm guessing that if they are some kind of symbol it is something universal. OK, there's the whole pink GLBT thing but is there more to it?

i have a pair of pink socks. never have i been complimented on them. unfortunetly i've only met 2 bi girls in the past. as far as i know the color pink has more to do with punk rock, than being a lesbian. but then again, i could be wrong.

Well, it might not have anything to do with anything...

But a "pink sock" is a slang term for.. er.. how to explain it.. uh.. a vaginal hemmoroid... if that makes sense. Just kinda dangles there, you know.... *cough*

    Yeah. <_< Who knows. XD

Okay, so being complimented on your pink socks is like being told "Hey, I really like your vaginal hemmoroid!".

Yikes! I'm a gay man, but this post tempts me to go out and buy me some pink socks and see if gay men start noticing me. I'm in a small town and having a dreadful time trying to find simpatico gay single men.

Wearing pink socks means that you don't lick anything over 40 years old. Or anything that even looks any where near that.

Never heard of it. but I've got pink socks and I'd probably compliment you on them even though if they mean something I've never heard of them cos I like pink socks. They're cool.

yeah.. that kinda symbolism doesnt seem to be such a big thing these days.. i wear a rainbow polyprop to classes and no-one's called me out on it. They're probably wanting to complementing you, and the socks may be out of the ordinary so it's something to mention?
