If pot was legalized

do you think the Government would keep the price at around $20/g for the goods, be dicks and greatly raise the price, or lower the price? Also, do you think they would secretly get carried away and try to create new, stronger strains?

 

people are already getting carried away with new strains....some strains test at near 33% thc....one hitter quitter shit....i dunno about yall but i enjoy the tokin aspect of getting high too and wouldnt want it to get too strong.

 

im guessin itd prolly stay around 20/g.if anything lower because all of the competition for dealing and less supply and demand...im sure they would prolly lace it w/ more stuff, and it would prolly get alot more potent....i couldnt imagine them ever passing laws legalizing pot, unless nader is voted in b4 he dies.lol......i guess i can only dream

 

i dont ever see it being legalized. but if it was the prices would probably drop, same reason as whitepony. and i agree jointman i love sitting around for hours just smoking, if it gets to strong then your not going to want to keep smoking.

 

if it was legalized and the govt taxed it like cigs there would be a bit less problems with the national budget.

20$ a gram??? Who would buy grass for that price? If any manufacturer tried charging that kind of money for grass most people would just grow their own.

Crazy yankees, 10$ a gram max. I've never seen pot being sold by how good it was, quality can be very subjective, what's to stop every dealer saying that his stuff is the best and you should be paying more for it?

quality is one of the biggest aspects of buying, smoking, growing, and selling weed. there are 3 main grades. 1)brick(shwag). 2)mids/regs(mid grade weed). 3)dank(high quality)

you can tell what grade it is by smoking and guaging your high. if all dealers said there shit was the best(which most do), and it turns out to be brick weed than you just dont buy from that dealer again.

 

Try Canada. And I just couldn't envision paying more for grass because somebody says it's good. Different people enjoy different kinds of grass, I wouldn't want to pay extra cash for a strain that will give me a strong body high when I don't enjoy a strong body high...

 

Colours is absolutely right Psilonaut. Most folks that smoke pot can tell the difference in quality just by the looks alone. Down here in Tennessee pot is divided into three general groupings: shwag, mid-grade, and dank. Most of us that have smoked dank (expensive strains that are usually hydroponically grown indoors) never go back to the other two kinds even if offered. There is a big difference. I personally prefer that heady-energetic stoned feeling to the sleepy-lethargic high you get from smoking shwag. Its just more enjoyable.

Anyways back to the main subject: If pot were legalized I think the government would probably have to lower prices because it is in all honestly a very easy plant to grow and cultivate, even more so than tobacco. I think most stoners would just grow their own plants. Any company that ventured into the marijuana market would quickly find themsleves in financial trouble for a number of reasons. The main thing is that the lobbyists that have been working so hard to keep it from getting legalized all these years would do everything in their power to keep the market from gaining momentum even get it back to an illegal substance as soon as possible and they would probably succeed.

Maybe we have nothing but good pot up here then? I'm sure there are some other Canadians around here that can atest to never having paid according to the quality of the grass.

I still maintain that different strains offer different highs, a wide variety of strains could be regarded as quality pot and still offer completly different experiences from strain to strain. How is price gauged then? Is a strong body buzz worth more than a sedative high? Or a strain that produces mild visuals cheaper or more expensive than a very "thought provoking" high?

 

oh Psilonauts from Canada. lucky bastard! my cousin lives in BC. You guys pay the same amount for dank as we do for shwag. probably less. hell our dank is probably equal to your shwag.


By the way- what are the marijuana laws like up in your neck of the woods? For instance whats the penalty for getting busted with a quarter ounce up there?

 

well the best pot I have ever bought in Tennessee was four-way and white widow and those are about 65 dollars an eighth. I'm sure its much cheaper there.


Just regular BC bud is about 45 dollars and eighth

and of course shwag usually runs about 25 dollars a quarter

thats America for you. although prices in New England are signifigantly cheaper.

 

You know what, I honestly don't know. The cannabis laws have been tossed around so much in the past few years I'm not sure where they lay. Most cops are pretty lax about small ammounts though....

 

how about prices in canada (in american dollars) for four-way, widow, bubble berry and other great strains.
