Rumors that Pope was GAY?

I don't know what the rest of you think about the Rumors that the Pope was gay. I think even IF he was. What difference does THAT make? He was a GOOD man. If he was gay, it doesn't CHANGE anything that he did. Or the changes HE helped bring to the world. This is a better place because he lived. It doesn't matter HOW he lived.

 

I hadn't heard that...I personally wouldn't care, but I bet there would be a lot of outraged really really Orthodox Catholics that wouldn't be impressed.

 

A catholic leader (I forget his rank) around my hometown made a statement that he thought Jesus was gay.

How about that for controversy?

It's all the SAME. What difference does it make?! In case ANYONE missed my point, What does relegion, or sexuality make on WHOM can do good things when in power?
Even Ronald Reagan voted to end a conflict or two.

 

Matt, when it comes to religion, some people have very very strong beliefs. So to some, it would matter a great deal about their ability to do good things when in power. I agree with YOU, I don't think it matters at all. But I think the fact that we've never had a gay PM (or you guys a gay Prez) says a lot! I think there would be a lot of people who wouldn't vote for someone for PM or Prez if they knew that person was gay - add religion on top of it and you've got quite a lot of emotional beliefs.

 

I would first let the man be buried , before rumours of his sexuality are discussed .

I very much doubt it given his stance on issues.. if he was then he deserves no respect at all... for his blinding hypocrisy.. Plus it makes half his work null and void. I don't like the Pope never have, gay or not gay.

 

I'm sure there has been a gay prez of the US, we just haven't heard about it, it probably happens deep within a closet.

Which is so stupid... I can't wait until we have a gay PM...or even a MINORITY PM, that'd be a start. Like white straight men are supposed to be saints? We learned in deviance class that the overwhelming majority of convicted pedophiles in NA were white straight males But hey, as long as they're not black or gay, right?

 

Who cares? As long he was abstinent as his quality required.

 

I'm closing this thread. My whole point was that I'm Jewish by Faith. I'm TRYING to show respect to the Catholic Holy Man.
I'm respecting him by acknowleging that this man did GOOD things.
