I work at a huge corporation that shall (for now) go nameless. I hurt my shoulder. At first it just felt like a pulled muscle, so i told the co-manager that i had hurt it, or maybe slept on it wrong. A week later it was killing me, i tell the store manager that maybe i need to go to the doctor because it could be serious. he said since it was past the four days, huge corporation would not pay for it, - no workers comp. two weeks later i re-hurt it, put it down on paper and filed it as an incident report. doctor says i have rotator cuff tendinitis. ice it, don't use it. if it tears, i will need surgery which = big money. a week later i file myself for workers comp, after finding out that i have two years, not four days to file. i filed, they didn't respond about whether or not they were liable for the injury so now i have to file for an expedited hearing. now, it says i have to make sure that i send copies of all this shit to my employer AND the employers insurer. All this could have been avoided if they would have accepted or denied liability in the first place. if it was denied, my insurance would have covered it. NOW. i'm pretty sure once i send all this in and my employer gets it, it's the big red stamp FIRED! Now, once i get fired, my insurance, which is through the company is gone, so i will be fucked doubly. How's that for a mind fuck?!?
