    By the way, on the topic of music, does anyone know the song "Mad World"? Possibly the most beautiful song in creation. So simplistic yet so perfect. Its the kind of song that you would have at your birth, marrige and furneral. Its just the esence of life, changed into a song... simplistic yet beautiful...perfect

    i agree. grateful dead music, CSN (crosby, stills, and nash), jefferson airplane,
    and phish is pretty much along those lines (at least to me anyway) also widespread panic (to me yeah!)

    it seems like any band considered a "jamband" is a hippie band these days. I would not necessarily call moe. or Umphrey's McGee or even phish really hippie music. They can strech a song more then 3 minutes and play a lot of shows every year. That seems to be what classifies bands as "hippie" bands these days. the bands that make it easiest for kids to jump on tour seem to attract the most hippies.
