i recently got yoshimi battles the pink robots by the flaming lips and its amazing!!! anybody recommend other flaming lips albums or bands similar to the flaming lips?
get Zaireeka! its 4 discs, each can stand alone, but if you get 4 cd players and push play at the same time you can have a crazy experience, because all of the cds work together even though they have different things on them. my suggestion is to get 4 boomboxes and put one in different rooms of a house, then smoke some grass, and whenever you walk into a different room you hear a different part of the song playing
well you just get like 4 people together that each have one, it isn't that hard to dig up four boomboxes, or like if you have a couple boomboxes and a computer, or a stereosystem, anything that has speakers and will play cd's
i have an old one, my brother has one, my mum has one, and there's a few actual stereo's in the house, so i could pull it off

I like their earlier stuff a lot better. if you can, pick up a copy of the punk rockers are finally taking acid. its the flaming lips first EP and their first 3 LPs on 3 discs. cant go wrong buying it.
flaming lips kick ass, I didn't even know I liked 'em up until a few days ago, I just downloaded a shitload of their songs
Acid induced alternative rock. The Flaming Lips are glorious. I suggest buying The Soft Bulletin immediately. I own that, Yoshimi, and Finally the Punk Rockers are Taking ACID.
man, i want to listen to Zaireeka so badly, but i dont have the album, and also i dont know enough people that listen to the flaming lips that would want to listen to it ...i will get it some day i love the flaming lips! i highly suggest the soft bulliten. Other great albums are yoshimi battles the pink robots, clouds taste metallic, and transimissons from the satliette heart.
I really like the music, but the vocals, ahh, there is something about that voice that made me turn it off.
