I grew up with a very unusual name.... Jyotish Amara...pronounced..,Joe-tish Amara. It means Gods unfading Light. Any way growing up it was really hard and I hated it...until I recently came to peace with my unusual name and now I love it. I am glad that I have something that sets me apart from others a little. Do you have an unusual name and what does it mean.
you're name is beautiful! i love unusual names. my name is syra von; first name pronounced sigh-ra my mom claims when she named me that she made my first name up and therefore it doesnt mean anything. recently i found out that my first name means "acid" in swedish. and in german my middle name (von) means "from"
Ha ha... thats funny... I wish I had a unique name... but alas i dont... Its not super common atleast.. Vicky... But Im definatly naming my kids something different and unique
Kayleigh.... it's kindof unique. Uncommon I guess. The spelling is quite rare though (named after a song by Marillion, though I did run into another girl named after the same song)
I have a common name, it's Michelle. But I heard that a new "unique" name is Nevaeh ...Heaven spelled backwards.
lol, i put this in every thread about unique names, but it's just SO unusual a girl I was at school with named her daughter Dangermouse Evans.
My name is Bryce...I don't guess it's THAT unusual, but I am a female and I've only known of one girl to be named Bryce, other than me. I used to hate my name, but I love it now. I like it because it's like me...a little unique.
wow. thats just wrong on so many levels i wish i had an uncommon name. i got stuck with kimberly. i know a million other kimberlys
My real name is Anne (pronounced Ann), but everyone has called me Annie my entire life. It's kinda old school, but not a lot of people around here have that name. I think I've met two other Anne's my entire life...and no Annie's. I don't particularly like my name. It's a little old fashioned I think...what makes it worse? My middle name is Maxine...I think my parents doomed me to be an old single hag with thirty cats. *sigh* meh, oh well. I can live with that *giggles*
I named my daughter Chiaya. It's pronounced Shy-ah. It's pretty unique. Oh, I have a female cousin who named her daughter "Delicous"..that is the strangest name I've encountered, by far.
Thanks for all your replies...you all have beautiful names. So for the ones that have the names that are not easy to pronounce did it suck to have your name pronounced wrong every day in school? I know for me it was really hard. I remember just wanting to have a normal name. So for my daughter I gave her both an abnormal name and a normal name. Chloe Raine
