Has anyone else notices the simularities? Evil creator of the differing levels, people (esp. their energy) enslaved, a redemer, possible use of mind expanding substances to become aware of current state, etc.

??? Colours? I think we are talking about two different things :). Do a google seaerch on "gnosticism" to find out what I am talking about.

I remember when the Matrix Revolutions and Reloaded came out, it was banned in certain countries for its "theological" content, which most people interpreted to be "Christian". But it fits better with the Christian or even Manichean Gnostic myth systems.

It may be, but that wasn't exactly what I was talking about. lol. It is very life-like in many many ways though.

That was a good article. I had thought about it the first time I saw the Matrix, and I was certain when I saw Revolutions that it was based almost entirely on Gnosticism. I didn't think to look it up back then (I had better things to do :) ), and I really didn't think about it again until last night. I do remember reading about it all over the place before and after it came out and wondering why no one in the mainstream press was mentioning the connection with Gnosticism. It was like they never heard of it.

    Thanks again for the article!
