I'm trying to figure out whether or not I should call my grandmother. She's very Catholic, but I don't really know how Catholics react to the loss of a Pope.
I'm not catholic either. But, when the WORLD loses a GOOD man, it's sad. No matter WHAT he does for a living or what his faith is. I think of myself as Jewish. And I felt the loss of John Paul the second.
Yeah, I'm Jewish too. I liked him. I disagreed with him on certain grounds, but I still liked him. I wasn't too suprised when he died, of course, but I was a little disapointed.
I liked the old stuff they showed of him from when he first became pope. He looked so cool and strong. Definately someone I would like to party with.
yes, he was so strong but so gentle...he had a kind of peaceful aura around him, he'll be very missed.
ME TOO! He was a very good man, he was, like he was called, 'God's Politition'. I don't like the title 'the Holy Father' , but I saw him as the representative of the Catholic church, teacher, man of wisdom, man of bravery, and a overall good man. I prayed for his salvation. Did you know he even talked with Sadam Hussein??? what guts....
Ditto. I don't follow that religion, but he was definitely a very good and inspiring man. I watched a couple hours of the memorial to him on CNN on Saturday & Sunday, and with every minute, I gained more and more respect for him.
Lords knows I disagree with the denomination I was raised as. However, I have respect for this man who dedicated his life to serving others. Any human being who can forgive another for the plot and attempt of his demise is quite admirable. The Vatican should allow his body to be buried in Poland. I am not bothered in regards to religious ties, but it is almost a slap in the face to my Polish heritage. It leaves me looking down a bit at my Italian roots as well.
