Wearing certain dresses over pants. ??

Alrighty, picture a vintage, trashy, maybe 1980's never-got-picked-up-by-my-date-for-prom-stayed-home-and-cried dress, higher than the knee, nice and black. Picture that over a pair of blue jeans. Would you wear it?
What I'm asking is, does anyone wear different types of dresses over jeans? if so, what kind of dresses do you wear?

i wold.............. i used to wear a polyester dress over my jeans it looked like it was made out of denim pockets cut off jeans =)

 

i would . i love my Indian-looking dress over jeans or this tiefye earth tone skirt. as long as its above the knee and you have good accesories.

I've seen plenty of girls wear dresses over pants, and it looks brilliant! However, make sure it's above the knee. When it's below the knee, it doesn't look so good.

wearing skirts over jeans rock! i'm with loki84....they need to be over the knee. also, short sarongs that hang to above the knee look great too!

 

yup, they look great - there's heaps of styles that look good, but yeah I'm with them on the whole above-the-knee thing.

Adding a big huge belt can help too - you can hitch too-long dresses into it and so one.

I have my black and white 60s halter on over my jeans at the moment actually. Love it.

 

Normally I dont like a lot of so called "hippie" fashion, but this is one look that can be pretty cool.

 

I have several short dresses that i always wear over jeans... I think its a great look!

 

based on personal experience I would have agreed with the above the knee thing however the other day I saw this chick and she looked hot and it was almost down to the ankles...I am looking for experimentation now!!

one thing I like about this style is that it helps avoid the exposed midriff!! You can just wear the t over the top of the dress and hey presto...no bely!!! well it's a worry for me nowadays!!

 

Yeah I do it all the time, in the winter its too cold to wear skirts so i just throw them on over jeans

 

I like the look on girls, but there are some people at my school that only wear skirts/dresses with jeans under them , kinda weird to me, but then again they are also nazis

 

I don't know if my opinion counts, sinc eI'm not quite what you'd call a "normal" guy, but I find the whole "wearing dresses above the knee" thing to be quite hot! It's a cool fashion!

 

I buy leftover evening gowns from new Years and Prom when they are on sale and cut them off to tunic or mini length and wear them to the clubs. I get a lot of compliments from them and nobody has the same top I do. Peace Love

mmm I WISH that was me in my sig, its actually Gina and Theo Kogan from Lunachicks... Yeah well I wore the dress and I got some dirty looks as well as some compliments.

I like the look. I actually wore an outfit like that both yesterday and the day before. I like cute kinda baby-dollish dresses over a pair of jeans. My bf's not a huge fan of it, but fuck it, I think it looks cool...


Actually, yesterday, I saw a look that I've never seen before...

This girl who's really hot (awesome sense of style)...she was wearing a cool black and white print flowy skirt...and OVER that long skirt, she wore a tight leather skirt with like, these slits on the sides. So, from the bottom of the leather skirt, you could still see a good amount of the flowy skirt and I was like...wow, that looks hot. Now I wanna try but I don't want her thinking I'm copying her (which I would be!)...haha...

 

I have this sweet little light purple empire-waist sundress that I adore, but won't wear anymore because it's too dang short for me, but it's just too cute to toss aside. I have been thinking of pairing it up with a pair of jeans or jean capris, but I was afraid it wouldn't look right. I think I might try it out though because I LOVE that dress.
