Smoking dope at a religious festival

When I was a freshman in highschool. My friend who was a catholic was trying to save me. He invited me to go to a party I guess you would call it that the church was having. They had food and a catholic rock-rap band there. The church was close to some woods, so we went in the woods and smoked a joint. We watched the rock-rap band and laughed when the lead singer said everyone go crazy when I start to rap. I thought everyone who started head banging looked so stupid, so I laughed histarically about it. I was telling this chick that I was friends with about that day. She got pissed off with me and said, "Don't you ever go to church stoned again, God doesn't like that." I was going to hook up with that chick, but after telling her that story she didn't want to have anything to do with me anymore.

 

haha God doesn't like that? Then why is marijuana a natural part of the environment? It was created for a reason. I think God is a hugh stoner, gets baked and laughes his ass off at all us stupid humans.................

 

I would have to be intoxicated to enjoy any Christian rock, let alone rap/rock...hell, I might even need to be in vegetative state for that.

God might be pissed, but I think you did the right thing

I once smoked before a friends funeral...I asked another friend of his if they thought he would mind, they said he would be happy about it, and since I had his best interest in mind I got stoned for his funeral.

 

I doubt God gets stoned, but I hate it when people think they are doing something wrong in God's eyes, just because it is wrong in man's society. Just like sex before marriage and drugs. There WAS no marriage back when God layed those rules down. Sex was your marriage. But man somehow made it a big shebang, and now we have to wait until marriage. with drugs, ther is nothing in the bible that says don't take drugs, and in my experiences, I have had the best, honest talks with God while high on something. God wants us to love him from our heart and be ourselves. Not conform to this perfect person hardcore Christians made up. Only Jesus was perfect. God doesn't expect us to be, or we'd be in big trouble.

Methos I totally agree with you. I think God created marijuana to ease pain and relieve stress. (Not all), but a lot of Christians I've met are hypocrites. I'm not going to explain that point of view because I could be on this computer all day discussing this topic if I did.

I took a lot of acid at a time that I lived across from this baptist church...well one morning the tamborine and bass were sounding pretty good and a friend went in...I stayed on the front porch and listened because I was scared to go in after the long strange night.

It seemed like a good church though, mostly black and very musical.

 

there are several and i mean several churches near where I live (course indy is filled with churches, gun shops, and corn) and none of them are like that, or even close to it.. You drive by and they have those signs out that basically say if you're not in church you're a sinner and gonna burn...
They are basically christian churches that really need to be done away with imo...

haha I would have gone in, probably would have had a memorable experience...

 

This church was in south-east Ohio too, about 20 miles from WV.
Kind of wish I'd have gone in. I did enjoy litening to them on sunday mornings though, seemed very positive.

I haven't seen any churches that offensive around here, but I'm sure they exist outside of the bigger cities...after all we live only 3 hours apart

 

There tons of offensive churches around here.. One speaks in tongues, (work with someone who attends) I need to start taking pics of these signs cause some are truly unforgettable..
And I cant forget about the special drives they have where you drive past and see half naked 12-13 year old kids..gotta love that...

 

I've mentioned it before, but the most offensive thing I've seen around here was on a fundamentalist church near me that had a sign saying "Collect Shampoo for the Homeless" out front.

 

haha no it didnt ive got to join that church where instead of food they would rather have homeless have clean hair... Damn, i bet those homeless people felt like they really got something ay

i agree with you up to this point, in the bible it does say that the body is your temple so do not deface or harm it, so technically piercings, tattoos, drugs, drinking, and not eating healthy are against the bible......but then again im a stoner who doesnt eat healthy, drinks on weeknights, has his ears pierced, is getting a tat in less then a month, and oh lordy i love drugs....

damn, heady basically beat me to my main point:

how in the hell can that girl say, "god doesn't like that!"? in christianity, god is all knowing, right? does this girl think she's god, then? otherwise, how can she read its mind? she is not only pretentious, but obviously has a skewed perception of spirituality. in christianity, god is the one to pass judgment, not her, right?

furthermore, if smoking is so bad, why is she encouraging you to stay away from church? if she's right in her arrogant assumptions, wouldn't going to church stoned give you some message from god that you're "wrong" and thus cause you to change your ways and save yourself? i'm not christian, and i was not raised in a christian home, so correct me if i'm wrong, but if someone is doing something wrong in the eyes of christianity, isn't turning to the church for help the most acceptable thing in that religion?

the whole argument that "god created pot and therefore we are supposed to smoke it" never really held a lot of weight either, though. just because something exists in nature doesn't mean i should smoke it (though i love smoking herb, don't get me wrong). but that argument leads to the claim that, well, "god created hemlock, so that means it's okay to ingest."

i re-read this and i want to add that i do not think it is wrong, immoral, etc to go to church stoned.
