Why thank you I'm back now. Store owner said that i should leave. I proclaimed that it was my right as a human being to go barefoot, he said "I'm calling the police" , I said "RUN"!. Oh well
Try another store... unless you're in a small town or he's selling some really rare product, it's his loss of business.
Hey, I barefoot in Toronto. I've never had problems in any stores thus far though. Good job anywa man. heh, my feet are BLACK after going around the city for a while. I love it.
well, you gotta think, that if you somehow cut your foot in their store, not only can they be held liable (or atleast thats something that you could argue in court) but your blood will be all over their floor why not just put on some damned shoes
First of all, as a barefooter, you tend to watch more carefully where you are going. Second of all, if I cut my foot in their store, they've obviously skipped a couple of health code somewhere. Stores are supposed to be kept clean at all times, right? If I'm cutting my foot in their store, there is glass or jagged metal somewhere and if some shoed person fell in their store, they'd be cut and bleed too. Or if someone in flipfops trips, they could cut their foot. Shoes aren't necessarily more safe than being barefoot. I understand the stores wanting to avoid being sued by every tom, dick, and harry that enters, but that just means that stricter codes need to be enforced surrounding when and why people can sue. It shouldn't mean that potential customers are inconvenienced.
First, in eight years of going barefoot, I've not had a bleeding cut. Worse has been tiny splinters that usually don't bleed at all and occasionally produce a tiny bead of blood when drawn out (not when still walking on them). Even a cut I had before I went barefoot regularly (on a beach) didn't bleed... Unless there's entire broken bottles (not a small, forgotten shard, but a jagged broken bottom or something) laying around all over, it's extremely unlikely to get a cut big enough to 'bleed all over' at all. Second, I *have* cut myself on a cardboard box on occasion... Why not just put on some damn gloves? Third, people suing stores for barefoot injuries are rare, however there are *many* cases of people suing for slip & falls. Just curious, but do you regularly tell people to stop wearing dress shoes w/leather soles, and high heels & such? If you're truly concerned about stores being sued, you may want to shift your focus.
