Someone just let me borrow a four disk collection of his whole life in music, i really like the older stuff, i can really see how he (along with the skatalites and others) inspired todays ska.

I like Marley, too. All I had to do was just sit down and listen to Legend and after a few songs I really started getting into it. Some of my standouts are "Is This Love", "Get Up Stand Up", "Buffalo Soldier", "I Shot the Sheriff", "Waiting in Vain" "Jamming" and I really love "Redemption Song", is is a very powerful folk song. Waiting in Vain is absolutely beautiful.

Bob Marley was a prophet and a teacher, his music always has such an increadible message. with that said, anyone here ever see the movie "Rude Boy"
    starring Jimmy Cliff?

Bob was definitely a prophet and a very mystical soul. I just listened to Ziggy Marley's new Dragonfly album, and Ziggy is really great but he just doesn't have that spirit that Bob's music did.

i can never decide which i like more. bob marley's actual music, or bob marley himself. i mean, i dont know of any other person who ACTUALLY used the messages of their songs to try to create change. every other band sings about it, and believes it, but at the end of the day, they dont actually go out there and try to change things. bob marley did, and i like him more for that than anything else. a true revolutionary and artist.

Legend is the most hideous thing that has ever happened to reggae music. it is such a shame. good songs all, but BEST songs all??? hellllllllllll no. buy each individual studio album if you want to hear what bob marley and the wailers sound like.

I grew up listening to Bob Marley because of my father. That's why I like him a lot. His sound and the rhythms.. Just great.
