People who stink at making conversation are sort of annoying

I know, I know, I said I don't like this forum cos topics get lost so quick. Anywho, I don't like how people sometimes IM you and at first you're like, cool, a new person to chat with! But than they have nothing to say except "lol" or "yeah" or something. Most of the people on hipforums are very good at making conversation. Actually every single person I have met on here is very interesting and unique, but other people in other places seem so boring, you know? I don't like it how sometimes you spill you heart and try to say something and all you get is a "haha" or something. I wonder why they got in touch in the first place?

you'll get those types of people anywhere. if someone IM"s me, they better have somethign to say to me, i'm not gonna initiate anything, they are the ones who IM'd me in the first place. if i IM someone, i only do it because i have something to say...

well I mean, If I IM someone, I will say something. But after a while, the other person should start saying stuff too, its a two way street.

But if you have something to say, why not iniate? Maybe you give people the wrong idea and sell yourself short if you sit back and wait. Someone needs to say something, haha.

I HATE talking on msn. No one knows how to hold a freakin conversation (except for one friend in BC who's never on anymore). seriously though, this guy would always msg me as soon as I logged on (usually to just see if I had new email), then would be so awful at attempting a conversation. "so, how's life? how's school? Work? Do you like this video game? yeah. lol. I love this whatever-the-fuck-it-is-that-you-have-never-heard-of-and-i'm-too-lame-to-explain-it-to-you-in-such-a-way-that-you-can-understand-what-the-fuck-i'm-talking-about.

i dont go on messengers anymore unless i have a specific reason.

very specific. aka three people or a special invite like "please sign on to so and so messenger"

After a while I just give up on people and stop trying, or if it's someone you know well you just keep leaving and coming back to each other, because maybe you're busy or whatever, I think that I'm usually pretty good at making conversation unless the person is giving me nothing back, but sometimes the other person and myself are just in weird moods.
But yeah it is really annoying if that person asks you a question and you give a genuine thought out answer and they just go 'oh'

With the use of contemporary words like ‘anywho’, ‘cos’, ‘lol’, and ‘haha’, and phrases like ‘I know, I know, I said, ...’, ‘... you’re like, cool, a new person ...’, ‘... or something.’, ‘... are good at making conversation.’, ‘I don’t like it how sometimes you spill you heart ...’, and ‘... or something’, you prove yourself the villain you demonize. Though one ought to wonder how the master of linguistics might fail to communicate well, one certainly ought to presuppose a mastery of the English language, as such knowledge would exhibit the contention of this particular post.

i am one of those people i dont generally like talking to people its not that i dont like them or dont like listening or that im stuck up im just shy and thats really hard for a lot of people not tp internalisze.
