I was super uber conservative, then I realized that the epitome of that was survival of the fittest, fiscally and in every other aspect, I liked old people and all the other gorups of people who would not have support if anarchy happend (small children, kittens) so I said f- that shit and looked at everything else and it just made more sense to be a commie, I became super liberal (excluding a few issues) decided it would rock to live in a bus, read some kerouac, researched some decades (I already had been listening to olde music forever, everthing from 1919 to 1979) and it just fit so much better than the young boy who had had ronnie reagan as a role model (I still regret those days)
I came here for the people. I love talking to those I can relate to. Alot of folks on here have personalities that are totally awesome. Laidback, interesting, musically inclined, peaceful, plus the multiple perceptions. I have my own views, most of which are republican because thats what I myself feel is right. Thats me. Thats what makes this website cool, I get to see what other people are like without having to be them. Plus the music taste on here is great!
i'm a hippie because i just grew up like that. Loving nature to death and my dad was still a little bit on the hippie side. I mean yea drugs are around me, but thats not what i think a hippie is at all. A hippie like a true hippie is someone who stands up for their own rights and cares about the enviornment, peace among everyone, unity, understanding and sees the beauty in every living thing. I could never give up what i have, its that important me. I think the best people in the world are hippies olny because they are so laid back and actually do something to change to world for the better. For our future. The future is here- we are it- we are on our own - grateful dead
i like talking to people on here because in the real world i suck at communication. everyone here speaks their mind (i think...)
I am here to voice my opinion and correct other's grammar (even though I occasionally make a mistake as well).
Because I live in the middle of nowhere and I get tired of having conversations about John Deer and beer.
I'm here too chat with folks who know what life is really about. This is a place were we can get away from all this capitalist just-say-no bullshit, and just be ourselves. It doesn't really matter why we are here (drugs, nature, countercultural politics, love), just that we are here. I'm a nature lover, a psychedelic substance user, a lover of all that lives and breathes and finally I seem to have found a place to be all of that at home. Thanx to all the hippies, tekkies, musicians, writers, etc., for carrying the torch of psychedelia on and on, forever (hopefully). -Ian (Vicious Vibez)
We are among the 'live in the middle of nowhere' folks, which is why we hang out in the forums so much. The being a hippie thing runs as follows: JuJu-(hippi-eyes-ation '67)-many things pulled me to the culture; enlightenment, music... Cinnamom-(hippi-eyes-ation '89)-it's a culture where you don't have to be 'like' anyone else, where being 'outside of the box' is the norm. I can be 'me' here, the 'hippie' stereotype gives me that freedom. Videokid-(hippi-eyes-ation '90)-They made me do it, stuck me in a schoolbus & told me it was my home. Hippiestead consensused difinition of 'hippie' Highly Intelligent Person Persuing Individual Enlightenment Others would say that the Hippie died back in the Height and was reborn as the Free-man; but we claim the title anyway. Why'd the hippie cross the road?
the hippie life is never dead. maybe all the original hippies are but the lifestyle is alive. I'm reading the Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, and for the most part it's a group of hippies out on a quest. well it's actually about graduating from acid but let's just say that's the setting. as my friend says they were outcasted because they did not meet up to society's standards at the time (which is suspiciously like ours now) and branded together to form something beautiful. what ISN'T attractive about the hippie lifestyle? not counting a physical level which is what most people say is stupid, but that's just it, the hippies have risen above that, they have a carefree lifesyle and look at everything as meaningful or some type of art on a different level of thinking, and from one of the highest levels of perception of any group of people yet. it's so much more than just getting high all the time, as someone said it's just another path to personal enlightenment.
it's a combination I love nature I smoke weed I find it jives with my religion and political views. I feel like I was born into the wrong generation. I fell it reflects my values, morals, and ideals...I just love being a hippi
I am here to be apart of a community of freedom, in which I am not judged or critized and to expand my mind with as much information as it can contain.
