hey all, i was just wonderin what your views were on being a christian and smoking cannabis? to me cannabis is not a bad thing if not abused and is highly beneficial. it is a plant that grows as naturally as all the others and was obviously put on this earth for a reason. i am not a christian but have always wondered...
Like the bible says "Don't live to eat, eat to live!" It's the same with cannabis. It is a gift from God, although some state that it is wrong to smoke. I was at a Jehovah's witness gathering yesterday and one of the points that the speaker brought up was that you should drive people from your flock who do wrong (or correct them). He then stated one of the wrong things is smoking cannabis. I thought this was pretty hilarious since I smoked up before I went to the meeting. I feel it is my responsibility to teach people who refuse blessings that God offers them to except them. Their lives will be more full if they accept everything as a gift from God, even the silly warnings not to except the gifts God offers you. God is a joker sometimes, after all. I am going to talk to the one witness tomorrow and hopefully provide her with a more positive insight into the nature of God's grace and perfect will for us. For while someone is not accountable for not knowing that something is from God, it is still good for them to be taught that God is in charge of everything, and that Satan is the beast that is not, yet is (because they hold the belief that there is a bad influence in the world that can effect their lives, and do not realize the only 'evil' is their ignorant rejection of God's love, which needs correction). Someone who believes in "True Evil" is one who does not see God's hand in all things.
If we say a Christian is one who is seeking to follow Christ, then the only real criteria would have to be 'does cannabis help me follow Jesus?' A person answering in the affirmative would have to conclude then that it is ok to use it.
