Hi, I'm new! And I have a wierd question! I don't smoke much at all, and so there's alot I don't know about compared to those who smoke and buy regularly. I just did a search on marijuana because I recently bought a small amount of it. I buy on average 3-4 times a year, just to have as a reward, and sort of helps to take time out. I always buy from the same guy, but this time smoke was different, and that's where my question comes in. I smelled it in the bag, and it smelt like insence. Then when I lit up a spliff, it actually tasted like insence too. I had all the regular affect of the spliff, nothing different, it was just the taste and smell, it was very synthetic, and almost perfume-like. I wonder if it had been sprayed with anything, and is that common to do so it smells better? I don't like the smell at all. It tastes like your smoking insence. It's probably not good for you either. It's really ruined the pleasure of it. Has anyone else had an experience like this? Thanks in advance, deja_vu
lots of weed tastes different. if its commercially grown it ometiems tastes a bit off due to various chemicals they put on it. sometiems its just the way its stored, someteims its the strain, someteims weed can take on differnet smells depending on the season (of growth). if it felt completely normal then it prolly was fine. no one puts chemicals on weed to make it smell different i dont think. some say chemicals are put on to make it weigh more. oesnt make much sense there tho, uless you had a visible layer of chemical all over it. did it look brown or scraggy?
like bill says different types of weed taste different - and massively different. if it got you stoned, i'd say it was weed there was a lot of bud going round london a while back that was sprayed with this bulk up stuff that just made it look covered in crystals from a growshop site; Brix Weight Increaser This product is clearly aimed at cheats. By simply spraying 1ltr onto flowering plants in the last 5-7 days, growers can increase dry floral weights by 22% - no skill required. Brix's combination of sugars and carbohydrates also improves taste. Alternatively, dried flowers (500g) can be soaked in 1ltr of Brix to get the same result.
Thanks for the helpful answers guys. The colour was green, and it was all bud, and not really dry either. The smoke was average, but normal nevertheless. I think perhaps, it was stored in an air tight space near insence.
Yea in your first post it sounded like you smoked some opium; but opium doesn't look green at all, doesn't look like bud, and is much more expensive than bud so the dealer would really have no reason to swap the two. Sounds like some nice bud. And Bill I've heard of dealers spraying windex and other shit on buds to increase the weight.
but how could a relatively undetectable layer of windex weigh anything? oh wait, whats the weight of water again? 1mL is a gram? thats crazy i guess possible too
I was thinking opium too. I smoked herb out of an opium pipe once when we needed a utensil. Tasted like perfume or incense, not good, chemically and oily, if that makes sense.
what probably happened is the guy you bought it from keeps his baggies around where he keeps his incense sticks....the baggies then smell, and the pot kinda takes on a little taste of the way the baggie smells. It's happened to me before with chocolate...haha
Let me ask you this... did it get you high? If not, it's probably that bullshit "legal" weed that you can buy. You have to smoke all if it to feel a buzz and it smells kinda incensey. Not particularly like bud, but a little bit. If your pot just doesn't seem normal then consider that he bought that and ripped you off because you do't smoke that much. If it did get you high, your dealer probably just keeps a lot of incense around and the smell can travel. It shouldn't be so bad that you don't enjoy the taste of the bud though.
