no offense, but think about what?

Any idiot who eats a stupid diet(vegan, vegetarian or omniverous in nature) can hurt yourself severely. Any idiot that eats mcdonalds for 30 days in a row should be shot for being an idiot. Instead he is making millions of dollars...*sigh* what a sad culture we live in.

The point of the movie is to prove just how stupid a McDonalds diet is. There is something commendable in providing such a wake up call.

It is a sad culture I agree.

i wasnt aware that there was a mcdonalds diet. This is the first i've ever heard of any such thing. Anyone who thought of eating at mcdonalds that much is an idiot. No normal, or sane person eats nothing but mcdonalds.

Let me eat nothing but eggs and start saying how a veggie diet sucks ass..yeah, that'd be smart.

The point of his experiment was to show just how bad fast food really is. There ARE people who eat at Mcdonalds everyday. And it IS bad for you. He was also trying to show what an unhealthy society we live in. We ARE a fast food nation. The amount of fat asses here is absolutely disgusting... it makes me want to puke all over there gluttonous bodies. There's no excuse! You look at other nations of the world and you don't see nearly as many fattys walking around. And I'm not talking about big people, for people come in all shapes and sizes.. I'm talking about the fat ass motherfuckers that feed their gaping holes with crap and expect to be pitied for their self sustained obesity. Your analogy of eating eggs everyday holds dick for weight.. as a matter of fact it's a pretty jackass statement to even put out here, but that's beside the point. It's a known fact that a vegetarian diet is far more healthy than a meat based diet so don't even try and pull that shit outta your ass. I thought it was a very informative movie. But I guess those in denial are the ones who would oppose it. Why don't you try to see the real message in the movie rather than dogging the filmaker for eating fast food everyday( though I did think that part was absolutely vile) and then trying to make lame analogies that don't fly..

    a few questions

    1) why do you give a shit if anyone else is fat?

    2) what study shows that a vegetarian diet is healthier than a balanced omniverous diet? Please, dont link me to a study by PETA or some other organization either.

and eating hamburgers at mcdonalds is supposedly representative of an omniverous diet? as if! its more insane than eating just eggs.

but really, why do you care if someone else is fat? They have that right if they want to be. Sure most dont want to, but we dont need government telling us what weight we have to be. God i hope it doesnt get that far..maybe the nazi's will have really won the war then.

"It is the position of the American Dietetic Association and Dietitians of Canada that appropriately planned vegetarian diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases."

Well maybe now he can go onto the "Subway diet" and lose all the weight that he gained during the McDonald's diet. I have worked at McDonald's years ago and later my oldest son worked there. My oldest son was a vegetarian and came home with complaints about McDonald's food alot.

To me the key words are "provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases."..

i think that ^^^and the paper is pretty awesome!
I'm wondering , If "appropriately planned" omni diets do this also, then why is this dieticians association not talking about them! hehe

Also where is something that tells us how balanced omni diets offer these types of benefits?...as good as vege diets? Please dont post some meat board rubbish link thx.

and the american cancer society gives their information on what constitutes healthy eating that does not persuade you to stay away meat. Of course, it suggests to cut down on red meats for fish, but anyone who is eating nothing but steak isnt eating a balanced diet.

here is a link to their diet/exercise page.

    http://www.cancer.org/docroot/PED/content/PED_3_2X_Diet_and_Activity_Factors_That_Affect_Risks.asp?sitearea=PED

Vegetarians/vegans seem to forget that omnis can and do eat everything that they do. Eating some fish, some chicken or turkey and red meat in moderation is not going to hurt a person. The key to everything is moderation.

So do you mean that everyone who got sick with "Mad cow disease" or gets sick with E.Coli would not have been sick if they hadn't Pigged out on meat and only eaten a little bit of the uncooked/diseased animal? Unfortunately people's definition of moderation has changed over the years, which is probably why we are getting fatter & sicker.

lol.....all of a few hundred people got sick from mad cows..out of several billion meat eaters? wow, lets ban meat!

If someone cant cook the meat properly, thats their own fault, not a knock on an omniverous lifestyle.

I agree that what 'moderation' has come to mean is very different than what it really is. But, you cant blame eating meat on people becoming fat. You can get fat overeating a lot of things. It is the fault of the person who consumes the food. People need to start learning how to control themselves and stop trying to find an escape goat for their own failures.

you are thinking of e coli?
BSE prions cannot be killed in a lab autoclave (Michael Greger, Consumer Union scientist, Oct. 2001 interview about chronic wasting diease in elk -Eastern Colorado News. Oh yeah, I wrote the article.)
I have heard folks here voice their opinions that meat is bad for the animals, not a great use of ag land, slimy/smelly/esthetically unpleasing and a dumb idea, but I don't recall anyone saying meat should be banned (except from their lives).
I've been running across you in other forums and your ploy seems to be "jump in get offended."
Be an omni. We don't care. We were talking about a movie portraying FAST FOOD as a bad idea.
I have had periods where I eat a bean burrito daily for a few weeks straight. It isn't a rejuvenating diet at all.

and to the original poster- planning to see it soon.
I HOPE it will be on VHS/DVD.

I was refering to mad cows with the amount of people i mentioned above..

The cooking part was to other diseases like salmonella poisoning. I dont know if E. Coli dies with being cooked, but if it does, then you can add it to the list.

My ploy? I dont try to offend anyone, though i often do. No offense, but the whole entire plot of the movie is stupid. Whats even worse is that we are making this guy a millionaire because he is an idiot with a camera.

you can read my first post,

"Any idiot who eats a stupid diet(vegan, vegetarian or omniverous in nature) can hurt yourself severely. Any idiot that eats mcdonalds for 30 days in a row should be shot for being an idiot. Instead he is making millions of dollars...*sigh* what a sad culture we live in."

One mcdonalds hamburger isnt going to kill you. 10 million might kill you, but so might 10 million eggs that a vege could eat.

People need to stop blaming coprorations and learn to take responsibility for their own actions. If a person actually does eat mcdonalds everyday, he has no one but himself to blame if he is obese or has heart problems. But i forgot, people dont take responsibility anymore, its easier to blame others for your wn shortcomings.

No one is forced to eat anywhere

Your point was that eating meat won't hurt a person and I guess I was saying that E Coli & Mad Cow disease comes from eating meat. How many vegetarians get them? McDonald's burgers aren't always safe either ( I used to work there)

eating a balanced omniverous diet wont kill you. Eating nothing but meat will. The problem with Mad cows disease hurting individuals is a problem for the FDA(though, none in the US has contracted any form of BSE to my knowledge). What exactly do you find unsafe about mcdonalds burgers other than the fact that they are greasy and unhealthy as fuck? :p
