Are adult videos degrading to male performers?

You hear a lot of talk about how degrading porn is to the women that perform in porn. But what about for the guys?

In a movie I saw called Masseuse 3, a porn actor named James Bonn plays a college guy who is treated like shit by the girl of his dreams. He sneaks into her room and jacks off while thinking about her, and he is forced to watch her a couple of times having sex with others. All he gets to do is jack off while watching. He does get to have sex with a girl, but when he cums on his glasses (which she is wearing) she takes them off and makes him wear his glasses with his cum all over them. He comes across as a poor schmuck who plays with himself constantly while being berated by this girl. The whole thing seems very degrading to me.

Now I did some internet research on this guy James Bonn, and in the world of porn, he seems to be rated as one of the best as far as acting ability, looks, body, personality, etc. He seems to have everything that a guy would want as far as looks, etc... He even has a phys ed degree from college.

He only did porn for 3 years or so, and then just disappeared. According to an interview he did for an adult magazine, he was concerned his family would find out and he really didn't enjoy performing in porn. But yet he allowed himself to be talked to and treated like his was dirt, and seems to enjoy jacking off and cumming all over himself while being belittled the the girl of his dreams. And he did all of this knowing he would be seen by literally thousand and thousands of people, despite his concern that his family would find out. He probably didn't realize at the time he was making the movie that it would be voted the best adult video of the year, and one of the best of all time.

Degrading for him? Fun? What was he thinking when he had his cum all over his glasses and it was running down onto his face, or when he was sitting there jacking off while sniffing her panties? And now that he is in the real world making a living like most other people do, I wonder what he thinks of his little submissive porn performance and and his porn career in general. Seems to be he would be sweating bullets that his past would come back to haunt him.

Anyway, something to think about -- what male porn performers endure to be seen in videos. I guess we'll never know what these men were thinking.

 

I think everyone makes choices we are not proud of and you are most likely right that James Bonn is hoping nobody he currently knows will make the connection. I'll guess he made more money for his part in the movie then the women made. When he was being degraded in the movie he was acting and being paid for acting. He probably was just glad he had money to pay his rent and put gas in his car. Are the women degraded? I think society is being degraded. When you watch a porn and you see a woman take it up the ass and scream more, more, more, yes, yes, yes, then society is losing a sense of what most women and relationships really are like. Have you ever noticed the bruises and scrapes covered by make-up on some of those women's bodies? There is a reason there is sound over on most of those films. The real voice/sounds coming from the women are not those most people would find titilating.

 

I personally think that anyone, male or female, who decides to participate in the pornographic film industry, who is not forced into it, who willingly made the decision, having to know that, pornography is bound to beget some form of gender humiliation at times, cannot be degraded unless they allow it to happen.

I don't know though, it's not like I have much experience with watching porn.

 

If people want to degrade themselves, then that is their problem. I can't help it if they are a moron.
