I usually only smoke on the weekends, but this week im on break, and ive been smoking every night for about eight or nine days, and im finding that im not sleeping as well when i get high at night. In the past ive smoked to help myself settle down, but recently smoking causes me to have restless, half-asleep nights. Is this common with frequent marijuana usage?
I've heard it makes you miss your REM sleep, but I don't know if that is true. I know that I smoke regularly every day and I don't get the same type of sleep I used to get. I go to sleep a lot easier but I don't get as much sleep. I would normally get up around 10-11AM if I didn't smoke the night before, but if I smoke I will wake up at around 7-8AM. But I always fall back asleep and get REALLY good sleep after that. So I don't mind.
yeah, i can fall asleep--usually at like 2 30-- but i might wake up at like 4 or 5 and stirr in bed until 7. then i can get up and fall back asleep for a while like you. weird. without pot i sleep deep till after 12.
YEAH i sleep alot better if i toke that afternoon, but i have not went a day without smokin in about 2 months
i have trouble sleeping anyways so i take sleeping pills and smoke....sometimes one without the other
ya when I dont toke during the day I just sit in my bed and turn around every now and then for 3-4 hours till I finally fall asleep. I think its becuz when you sleep when your baked you just pass right out, and then after when you have to sleep without weed it takes forever cuz you got nothing good to help knock you into sleep(id take sleeping pills but they suck ass,nyquil helps but only if your sick and dont wanna sleep for half the nite next day).
you dont loose REM sleep, you sleep sound and very comfy. sometiems you need more sleep to get the same amount of energy, or to be more sober when you wake up. i sometems dont get to sleep easily but i dont care, its not boring to lie and think while stoned sober hwoever is another story i fuckin hate not being able to sleep when sober (which is the case unless im tired, usually from a coffee-down) it used to bring e to tears. i would be so fuckin angry at not being able to sleep and just going mad. fuck.. its prolly one of the reasons i love weed so much
no matter what, it sounds liek you should stop toking before bed of you want to get a good night's sleep. I personally have a really hard time going to sleep without smoking first. But that's niether here nor there if you're having trouble. Listen to your body.
yeah yesterday i (stupidly) took adderall at about 3 in the afternoon, and ive been up ever since. i was practically ripping my pillow apart because i was so frustrated (i had to get up at 6 45 for a test). i hate feeling tired but not being able to fall asleep.
Anybody heard of Valerian? It's a natural supplement, much like the herb, and helps you sleep. You can buy it over the counter at most health food stores and it works pretty well.
some types of weed are better for sleeping than others, like an indica strain would be more effective than a hardcore satvia in getting to sleep. i have real trouble sleeping without weed now, i guess i'm just so used to going to sleep stoned. i'm currently 2 and a bit days into a week or so of no smoking and its an absolute nightmare! but its always good to have a break now and then ... anyone get like any sort of withdrawl symptoms when you stop? apart from the first day which is really weird ( usually chilled me can get a bit agro with things! ) , and the sleep thing, i'm all cool. except i smoke cigarettes like a chimney when i haven't got weed, and tobacoo tastes so rank compared to some fine fine bud. mmm bud the worst thing for me stopping for a bit is my whole house stinks of weed! sorry i'm rambling, its late ... and i can't sleep
i tried gettin melatonin here in australia but apparently its not been allowed onto the market or something. sux0r. im really interested in smart drugs
well ... i've resisted the temptation so far to just pull a plant from the growroom and smoke it whole ... but give it half hour or so probably a week or so maybe more, sometimes i do a month or so! just good idea i think to have a break now and then, and good to let the tolerance levels get a bit back to normal
