he was given the sacrament of the anointing of the sick, which used to be called the last rites....the sacrament of the anointing of the sick is often misunderstood as signaling imminent death, it is performed not only for patients at the point of death, but also for those who are very sick, and it may be repeated.....so.....while i think he's close to death....just because he's been given the "last rites" doesn't mean his death is imminent.....

I'm not a Catholic, but I'm curious as to what harm you feel the Catholic Church actually does.

Ya know Matt, I'm not Catholic and I'm not going to laugh at you for stating what you've said here, but I've happen to know plenty of Catholics who just go to chuch, listen to what is said, and put their pants on the same way you do every morning. Trust me, the majority of them don't even know what the fucking Illuminati is, they just go to Church once a week, almost as a social thing more than anything else. Its really not a bad influence on their lives and they certainly don't force their views on everyone. Sure their are some crazy bible thumping Catholics.


True to what you said about Catholicism - there as some crazy ass fucking Muslims in this world who think its a good deed to commit suicide while driving a car with a bomb in it into a crowd of people. But there are also billions of peaceful muslims who wake up everyday living normal lives caring about the samethings that you do and your family does and put their pants on the exact same way.


The point is that their are overzealous freaks in all religions, but religion and the people who follow it aren't inherintely doing something bad. Like I said, for most, its a social engagement.

So truthfully - is religion the problem or is it just that there are some fucked up people in this world who happen to follow a certain religion?

Logic tells me its not an issue of religion so much is its an issue of fucked up people.

I wasn't speaking of everyday Catholics. 98% of them are good, well-meaning people. As a matter of fact, my family is Catholic and I was baptized Catholic. I am simply speaking in terms of the religion itself and the people who control it at the very top. All I will say is the behind the scenes, the Catholic religion is very different from what most people think it is (based on my research, anyway).

Sure, the Bible has some harsh words for those who aren't true to it, so does the Koran or whatever the hell it it that could give some crazy person reason to believe that what they are doing is right in the eyes of God. That arguement though is kind of like the kid's parents who blamed Ozzy Ozbourne for their son hanging themselve while listening to Suicide Solution.
