If no where near you is playing it you can Go rent/buy the DVD and you you can turn on the audience and listen to what people yell back at the screen during the performance... I love seeing it with a group Its so much fun especially throwing toast and cards and the waterguns... Its got a whole audience participation thing... Its awsome...

We can't throw toast or rice or use water guns in austin. We have two casts I think.

There's a sequel to Rocky Horror called "Shock Treatment" and usually it's hard to find.

Yeah, but Shock Treatment was pretty lame. Brad and Janet were played by different people. That and the TV audience representation of the town just didn't do it for me. I am happy that Richard O'Brien, Patricia Quinn, Little Nell, and Charles Gray made appearances, but I don't know if that could make up for the lameness of it. But that's just my personal opinion of it. I guess it's still worth checking out just to say you've seen it.

As for the RHPC, I have to agree that it's always best to see it in theaters or at least have th audience participation option on the DVD. The fun is in being a part of it, not just watching it.

    Don't dream it. Be it.

Sadly, it did not make up for the poor excuse of a film Shock Treatment was.

such a funny movie.... watch it first on your own or with a small group, and then in a big group with audience participation. Otherwise you'll totally miss what went on in the movie, lol.

They only play it once a year here, at Halloween. It always sells out. We can't throw buttered toast, or anything far enough to reach the screen, but otherwise it's ok. I love my newspaper, protects me from randomly thrown stuff :D

I have to disagree. I think it's best to see it in all of its glory with the audience participation and the festivities first. THEN rent it to learn the lines and songs. But for most who have seen the video first, they were sorely disappointed and it ws tough to get them out to the theater.

I have to disagree ;) I saw it first on my own and thought it was creepy and hilarious all at once. If I'd seen it in the theatre first, I wouldn't have been interested because you miss about half of the story (or so I believe) with the audience screaming, dancing and throwing stuff.

Well, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree and let the others weigh out the pros and cons.
