I hate wet dreads. No matter how much I towel dry em, they always drip on me for about an hour after I get out the shower.
It's not so much the dripping thing for me...it's me almost falling backwards in the shower when I'm trying to wash them...they get so heavy sometimes! I guess I gotta get my neck a bit stronger! *laughs*
I just went swimming for the first time since i got my dreads 9 months ago. I got back and it seems to have done so much damage, they feel so much looser, its not fair :-( Also i ordered some metal beads and they came today but they are tiny! it said halp an inch on the site and i asumed that was the diameter, but its actualy the length. They only fit on the tiniest of my dreads. so all together not a great day for my dreads.
hehehe i was swimming after a week of me having my dreads in the ocean and lakes... i didn’t have any problem.. im sorry to here about your bead situation... just means your dreads dont what those beads.. and a special one is awaiting the perfect time Your dread are gaining lot of length there fleassy When i have wet dread out of the shower.. i ALWAYS take a towel and wrap it around my head and just walk around with a towel on my head for like 20 min then there damp but not dripping
hehe yea they are arent they im liking it hehe yea i do that with my dreads too, i walk around with a giant twist of towel on my head... jaycee finds it funny
Hehehe but its sooooo great, some time iget too big of a towel and i hage a HUGE twist on my head and it hurts my neck.. but not often
You're dreads look happy I don't like the feeling of damp dreads. I usually towl dry then blow dry a bit do they aren't too wet.
Budda, i dont think it would have done any damage if i had been swimming in the sea or a lake, but it was in an indoor pool. I guess it must be the chlorine that does the damage
yea i went swimming when my dreads were about 5 months old and YUCK they just felt so icky after, took about a week before they felt any better. It's the amount of chlorine they pump into pools these days, its bad for you.
This past summer I swam in the James river near my house about 5 out of 7 days of the week, and at the end of the summer my hair had taken on so much of the river smell that it took 2 months for them to smell normal again haha. On another note, when I dry my locks I towel dry them, and then whip some of the water out, and squeeze em all out as much as possible, but they still seem to be jsut as wet as before, so sometimes I lay by the fire for a while, but the humidity sometimes gives me a big head of loose hair fuz and i look like i was struck by lightning. Heres some pics I just took since I just hopped outa the shower and my dreadies are all saturated, thats osmosis for you.
