Damn.too-bad.I have a box set of the old boy--I'm going to go play some now.------------Does anyone remember"Night time is the Right time'?That song touches the very bottom of my soul.bye -bye Ray--you enriched my life-and turned me on to REAL soul music.
Oh.man....What a loss....I will listen to some Ray myself tonight. I know there's gonna be some boogie going down where ever his soul is right now. Bye Ray....you will be missed. Ruby
Great idea....lets all who have something by him play it tonight and really feel the music he gave us. I love "Night time is the right time", and "I can't stop loving you". This man extended himself into so many genre's of music, and was an influence on so many of different ages. I really liked Ray...cool dude. teepi
Real cool idea teepi....lets light a candle, put on the music and send Ray off on a cosmic karma cloud of love.....Ruby
He was a much more positive influence that Ronald Reagan was. He was one of the great ones. :sunglasse
you said it, mushroom dreams. just what i was thinking. i got a whole lot more choked up hearing him do "america" than anything ever said by the gipper. a truly great and talented man. someone who's music crossed all boundries of ages. he was of all generations. RIP ray...you'll be missed! deezee
I don't often cry about folks dying. Didn't when my mom passed. But, yesterday, as I was listening to public radio out in the barn and heard that he had passed, I just sat down and wept myself dry. Ray Charles was one of those True Human Beings. He gave so many folks the "feeling". He could make you feel sad, happy, loving and blue. He influenced, and was influenced by many different kinds of music. He was moved by music, and what moved in him, he gave to us... Freely. Thank You, Mr. Ray. Please say hello to all those Bad boys and girls who have shared your passions and have moved on too.
He will be truly missed. His music was timeless and touched something in all of us. I saw him perform in England somewhere around 1964. My son just recently went to see him here, 40 years later, what a trip! Ya think him and Regan will meet up there in the afterlife? Could be interesting....
