hey, i will be in Newcastle Upon Tyne around the middle June What can you tell me about it? How shall I entertain myself? Any good events around this time? Whats the nightlife like?
i can tell you its violent - don't make a big scene of things, otherwise you'll be noticed, which isn't a very good thing there. apart from that, i don't know much in the way of tourist attractions or whatever... i know not of any events - most uk events (festivals especially) are down south
Ignore that last post ........Newcastle is a blast for young 'uns, has some fabulous venues for music and good times; the Quayside, the Big Market, all are jumping at the weekend. Monday is a great night for students, check out some of the great open mic nights, like Enigma bar in Carliol Sq. It is a very friendly place, the people are far warmer than, say, London. Violent? No more so than anywhere else, when young foik drink too much on a weekend. Be sensible, be aware and you will be fine. It is only 10 miles away from some of the loveliest beaches in England, the countryside, too, is only 30 minutes away, the border with Scotland, about an hour and 3/4. You will not be disappointed.
sorry then if i seemed pessimistic, but in my experience, though there is enough to do, there's a lot of violence - i'm just saying watch out +)
