i'm facing a new health issue and find myself researching something else that is going wrong in my body. ovarian cysts... painful, inherited, and having to follow up with doctor in area to deal with. have you faced this? how? its starting to really sink in now.
I get them. In fact, mine grow to double the size of my ovaries and are VERY painful. I have been to the ER a couple times because they burst. Pain medication and birth control are my doctor's remedies... Do you have any specific questions?
^^^^same here Cysts can hurt like a bitch. Going on the pill was the best decision I ever made; it totally helped regulate my cycle, and really decreased the hormonal irregularities.
I have polycystic ovarian syndrome and was placed on Prometrium after the pill treatment prompted me to overbleed twice (the last time resulting in a DNC). After much prayer, I no longer need the medication. As far as the actual cysts themselves, thankfully, I have never had a problem. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
I deal with this all of the time... I get cysts that get as big as 8cm to 10 and have to be removed. I continually get them, I am on the pill, and it seems to do no good.. They cant tell me why i continue to get them when on the pill. I have had over 5 surgeries pertaining to the cysts... I had a tumor take out my other ovary so my right one is all I got.. I can feel for you sweetie.. Its hard for me to face sometimes cause they dont just form into normal functional cysts, mine always end up being complex ones... What I do when I feel the pain of my cysts, I lay on a heating pad, that really seems to help me..
The pill didn't help me either. In fact, I have less of a problem with themthe last 6 months I have been off the pill. And my periods are better (a lot less heavy and painful) since I have been off the pill too. Only annoying thing is that my hubby and I have to use condoms now.
i have PCOS too and ovarian cysts. mine are small and dont hurt at all. my doctor said i dont need medication and luckily they dont need to be removed
Last year I had one...It was dermoid??? I believe which meant it was solid. Hurt like hell... And it made my belly get all swollen like I was in the early stages of pregancy...and later when it got more dangerous after being ignored for too long, I had to get it surgically removed, lost an ovary in the process...pretty crappy experience. But my friends have all had them and they were nothing like that, just painful, but gone after a few months. Hope you're ok.
I have them too... I get them a lot... they are big and painful and make my stomach all puffy... and look like im almost pregnant.... (thank goodness for apron tops covering swollen tummies!) I have one that just wont go away... my doctor gave me naproxen to get it to stop swelling... i think she said its about an inch but was bigger before but it ruptured and has been leaking the fluid in it... yeah I feel for you hun they suck dont they! and I will probably go on birth control to help keep them away.
Sometimes they do go away by themselves... Most of mine either rupture (very painful) or simply "pop" which isn't TOO bad although it does hurt. Cysts are totally weird though, because there are so many different kind. I had one gyne tell me one time that sometimes women get them and they (the cysts) have like teeth and stuff i dunno... and the ones that are filled with blood, or the kind wasting was talking about, that are solid. I think your best course of action would probably be to find out as much as you can about what TYPE of cysts you're prone to... the more knowledge you have, the better off you'll be. PM if want to talk
holy crap hon, I finally know of someone how had a freakin dermoid take out her ovary as well... arent those crazy, they have hair and teeth and such... And they are huge.. but when they told me how they have hair and teeth and such, it freaked me out beyond belief...
i have polycystic ovarian syndrome. ive always had it. when i first got my period i was 10 and got them 2 times that yr. i thought it was normal coz id only just started out getting my period. then the next yr came. same thing happened. i grew hair in places girls should'nt grow hair. went to the doc they recommended a gynocologist. i was put on the pill and told to lose 30 kg. only lost 10 and when i was due to go back to the docs, she had retired... so im 19 now and have been on the pill for 8 yrs and its the best thing. i have a 97% chance of not being able to conceive naturally. thats sad but ive had the almopst 10 yrs to kinda get over it and to think there is other ways of children... it is sad but its life. some people wernt meant to be "normal" yet i see these people who are drug addicts or in abusive r'ships having kids. there are so many loving families who would kill to have kids but cant yet immature people are having them left right and centre... never mind im going now xx
