up around here in Mass. N.H. and VT, it kinda helps with speeding tickets if the cop figures out you go to Norwich. a friend was criminal speeding and had it bumped down to a regular ticket one night. i know many people who get out of tickets just because they go to my school...i dont' have personal experience with it, cuz i've never been pulled over...it doesn't always work, but i know plenty of times it has happend this year alone - either no ticket or lowering of the price of the ticket.
for real though. ill be the old maid. if you are speeding and someone else stops for whatever reason, do you know how long it takes to stop? going at that speed you really cant if you're close to them. ive had my speeding tickets and thought it was lame. but speeding really is dangerous and not just to you (or the person)... but to anyone else on the road. if you lose control for ONE SECOND it's gonna be bad. so yeah, im glad they ticket people for that. like i said, ive done it and im not a saint. but there IS a reason for this.
setting up a payment plan sounds like the best deal. They may tack on interest, make it into a note payable sort of a thing, but hey... maybe you shouldn't speed so it won't happen again, right? If you're parents get angry about the monthly payments being higher, offer to do more work around the house until they're back down to being reasonably priced... do dishes, mop and vacuum, take out the garbage, etc. Parents like it when their kids do that sort of crap for 'em
ive never got a speeding ticket but i have run a few red lights and i reversed into another car once and run over a few cats
It wasn't in a resedential area I was going past a graveyard and no houses were around. You know in 1987 a lot of states interstate speed limits were 55 thats crazy way to slow. The insurance companies fought tooth and nail so the speed limits wouldn't go up to 65. It's just a money thing. Insurance company's pay for cops laser guns. Insurance company's make to much of a profit. High tickets only affect poor people. Speed limits should be higher
Thanks for all the help guys. I've been asking around. The best thing to do is get a garage to say your speedometer is messed up that will at least move it to 10 miles per hour over or less. I'm going to call the clerks office to see when the cops gun was calibrated last and when he last took the test for the laser gun. I may try to postpone the court date as well that way the cop may not show up. Why was I going 51 in a 35? Well everyone speeds some people had a laser gun and they tested this one road where the speed limit was 55 and 90% of the people were speeding! I just got caught and the cop was hidden so I couldn't see him which is illegal.
I hope it ain't illegal... that would severly limit the effectiveness of hte police. suck it up. You broke the law, you got caught - just pay the damn ticket and don't speed so badly again. Jeez. I've heard that most cops don't bother stopping you if you're within 10% of the speed limit. So going 104 km/h in a 100km area probably won't get you stopped, but 114 would.
exactly. I go 75-80 in a 70 mph zone all the time... if I was pushing 85 or 90, I would deserve a ticket. going 50 into 35 is just not paying attention, and you deserve a ticket for it. it isnt illegal for cops to hide behind something to catch speeders. are you insane?? does there have to be a sign 2 miles down the road telling every motorist that a pig is stationed behind an overpass.???? come on now. you broke the law. pay the price. geez.
no shit. everyone speeds. one cop cant catch all the people that speed. you just got caught, live it up and pay the price. you were going 51 into 35. the speed limit is posted as 35 for a reason. 16 mph over the posted speed limit is dangerous. more than likely you were in a residential area. most people do speed, especially in the big cities. thats why cops usually set up speed traps........ and they catch a bunch of people all at once with motorcycle cops. there is nothing illegal about it. you are breaking the law.
if you were going 40 into 35, you have a little more room to complain, but hell 15 mph over the speed limit in a residential area...... you deserve to get a ticket. thats all Im gonna say.
i hate hidden cops i went in the carpool lane to get on the freeway solo and one of those sneaky hidden motorcycle cops stopped me argh
but speeding's so much fun and i can't afford tickets because i got a car that's fun to speed in its a catch 22
hhahaha!!!!!!!! okay, you do things like drive in the carpool lane with no extra drivers, drive without your headlights on at dark, and you speed....... and you complain that cops pull you over??? you are a menace to society!
