alot of people might think because of my heavy weight that i have never been kissed by a pretty girl before (i weigh a little over 600 pounds). well, i really am trying to lose alot of weight right now. i'd like to get down to 250. that's my goal. and i am working towards that every day now. i've already lost close to 30 pounds. but it's not because i am hoping to find a skinny girl. because i've had 2 very skinny girls so far that actually liked me just the way i am. in fact, they were what i would call chubby chasers. they didn't want me to get rid of the weight! and that is not cool with me. so i broke it off with both of them.

i mean, why would anybody get turned on by a fat guy that's gonna drop dead before he's even 30? and that's what would have happened to me. i heard it straight from my doc's mouth. but both these girls only laughed at me when i told them i am gonna lose all this weight. no matter what it takes. so i don't need people like that in my life. i want my self respect back! and if that means being alone for a couple of years? big fat deal! lol. at least i will be alot healthier (and live longer). and maybe even find a girl that will want to chase me when i am no longer chubby. or let me chase her. lol. and i won't have to be a freak just to get their attention. but i still don't get it? why would anybody only like really fat people? isn't that just another form of discrimination? and isn't it unhealthy? so tell me what you think?

true. but why go on thinking somebody is attractive even after you know that their weight (either too much or too little) is slowly killing them?

The media does that all the time with anorexic-looking models. The other end of the spectrum isn't healthy either. I so rarely look at magazines that I was shocked to see how skinny they are these days....ribs showing and everything. Ew.

Anyway, I digress..;) I hope you reach your goal. :)

yeah, i just saw a program about karen carpenter. one of the saddest stories ever told. i feel bad for people like that. she was so talented and pretty. but she couldn't see it. you can actually hear all the pain in her voice. and it shouldn't have to be like that. we really do live in a very sick society. so i guess it's up to us to find a better way. thanks for wishing me luck!

I wish you well with your weight loss.

Good for you to want to get rid of the weight. Keep that determination. I bet you'll see a lot improve in your overall health once you get going.

I don't want to speak for you however if it was me I would think after losing all that weight I would have a better feel about myself and life. You know 600 pounds isn't healthy. It's not so much discrimination as it is a health issue.

Have you always been overweight or have you gained with age? You don't have to answer that. The reason why I am asking is have you had things happen to you that made you turn to food? (like depression, circumstances, etc...) Maybe if you tried dealing with issues if there are any you might have an easier time losing the weight.

Do you have any friends nearby that would be good, healthy support for you?

Have you talked to a Doctor about what you should be doin to start off and slowly increase and how to change your overall health. I know alot of over weight people try to do to much to quick, which is not very healthy in itself. Also the tendency to gain it back quicker is there also. Once again I wish you the best, and remeber you always have us to help with positive re-inforcement, and maybe even a swift kick in the ass if you start to fall off!!!

    Good Luck again!

hey thanks! yeah, i am gonna take around 2 years to reach my goal of 250. right now i can't move around much. but i am walking around my house (with a walker) and will continue that till i get some of the weight off. then onto more advanced exercise. i'd like to be able to run again. i used to do that a lot before i got so big. especially the kind that gets the heart rate going! and no more snacks. only healthy foods. plus Slim Fast. and i got a really good doc that's helping me along. thanks again for all your support!

I have a question about drinking Slim fast for a snack. How many times a day do you drink it? Slim fast is a meal. If you drink it too much during the day your still getting the amount of calories you would be from a meal.

I know a woman who would drink it at lunch with her lunch. She ended up putting on more weight.

I'm not trying to tell you not to drink it I'd just be careful how many times a day you are drinking it.

Do you keep track of your calorie intake during the day?

Thats good, they say you should loose about 2-3 pounds a week. But I would think that at first you would prolly burn off alot more. I think green tea help your metabalism! And you know you can never go wrong with alot of fruits and vegatables. I was 220 lbs when I graduated high school. I dropped down to 180 over about a year or so. I just slowly cut out things like mayo, dressings, soft drinks. Little things like that can make a big difference in you calorie intake!

Hope everything goes well for you. We all expect to here up dates on your progress.

May I ask how tall are you sm0key? My husband currently weights 225 and wants to get down to 175. He is 5 10'.

Your suggestions are terrific for losing weight. We've cut out a lot of the extra's and drink a lot of water. Water is good for flushing out your system.

stop talking to him! he needs to get away from the computer ;)

you know there are men who feed their wives until theyre so fat that they cant move? they keep them like pets or trophies, and keep feeding them so they get bigger and bigger and less mobile.

THATS sick. its one thing to like someone's health issue, its another to cause it.

they prolly like sitting in the rolls, i dunno, its pretty wierd to me.

but yeh im sure if you weigh 600 pounds and you went down to 300.. youd stil be pretty fat and youd still pull fat-lovin chicks

i guess it might have been a little depression involved. it just happened over many years (i'm 25). i was always large, but it started to get out of control around five years ago. i would over eat when i was anxious about something. and not get enough exercise. till it reached a point where i could not get out of bed on my own. but now i am walking around my house again (with a walker) and am already losing the weight. so with the help of my doc, and a lot of changing my bad eating habits, i know i am gonna do this. thanks for all your nice words of support! i appreciate it.

I have a person in my life that I love dearly who is overweight. Her and I talked about it not too long ago and I learned a lot about her eating addiction.

Eating for her has been like a drug. When she's upset, sad, angry, tired she'll eat. She said she'll eat food she doesn't even like just to eat. She was crying when she was talking to me about it because it has been such a battle for her. She's working really hard at losing it. Having her talk to me about it in the extent that she did I thought was a huge break-thru. That isn't a very easy topic for most to talk about.

Again, good for you to be talking about it and doing something about your situation.
