Homemade Prom dress help!

    ummm... ok so for my prom im taking one of my full length black dresses and using that, but i want to fancy it up... u know.... does anyone have and ideas?

    the dress is black, empire waist, split down the front, top layer on bottom is small hole mesh and the bottom is just black cotton, it has straps but im taking them off and making it strapless... thier are so many possiblilities with this dress but i need some ideas... please help me. thx

    hey sweetie..try sprucing it up with some cool colored lace and trim!!! I bet you could even do a tasteful aplique :)

    diamentes? (sp?) might add some spangle to it.
    Can you take a pic and put it up, it might help us come up with more ideas

    I agree, lace would probably look real pretty

    [​IMG]this is what it looks like... i knew it i just took a pic th details wouldn't show up... i want it to be strapless but please include ideas using the straps... fyi... when i bought it, it had a red rose broach on it... it was too simple.
    ideas please!

    you could put a beaded design on the bodice. Wht exactly did you want to do with the straps???

    You could also attach red lace at the top and bottom of the dress to make it look gothique. yes with a french pronounciation)
     
  6. little beaded flowers could work , seed beads may be a pain to work with but long run they look cool, tool(e?) (mesh) is magic

    Im for Beading but I dont know about Flowers.. I never liked flowers on black dresses... How about Stars?

    You could mabey use the straps and make some jewelry like a choaker or arm bands!

    Do some form of decoration UNDER the top layer so you can just about see it under the gauze fabric but when it blows back when you walk you can see it propperly.

    I agree, lace would probably look real pretty..i like dresses which have some shades on front..plain dresses doesnt suit me..in that i look heavy..
