I thought Red Dwarf was fantastic. Low budget, awful effects yet the energy was always present.

But indeed, Blackadder is probably the best.

My favorites are Red Dwarf and Goodnight Sweetheart. I did not like Black Adder.

God I miss England. Left when I was 18, Dec. 1975.
Would love to see some of these shows you're talking about. They would play more English programs over here in the states, if you people knew how to speak so yanks can, UNDERSTAND WHAT THE HELL YOU'RE SAYING!!!! Hell, I saw Trainspotting, and even I had a hard time understanding.

I can understand them most of the time....but Scouse+helium= What the fuck's he saying???

I absolutely love Bill Bailey, but as far as just television shows, I love Monkey Dust, Look Around You, Fawlty Towers, Anything Monty Python, Black Adder, and Keeping Up Appearances...:)

I like Monty Python, Hitchhiker's Guide and Discworld. Do they count as British Comedy?

That reminds me of a great old program from BBC2

    Rab C. Nesbitt!

The Scottish accents in that were so strong, I think my dad was the only one in the family who had a clue what was going on. Great show, anyway :D
