According to Erowid, 2 in every 250,000 people who use Ecstasy on a regular basis dies from a related incident; however, you should keep in mind that these people either bought a pill containing PMA or dehydrated, overhydrated, or physically exhausted themselves dancing. MDMA has NOT been found to be neuro-toxic.
Ok, how about this: How many MDMA pills would you have to take to have an OD? Or, how much MDA would you have to snort? (I'm talking real stuff, not stuff posing as MDMA.)
The LD50 of MDMA on mice and guinea pigs is ~98 mg/kg. Assuming you're a 100-pound male, then approximately 4.5 grams of MDMA would put you at your limit; at 100 mg for a standard dose, assuming that the batch you're eating contains exactly 100 mg per dose, would require you to intake 45 Ecstasy tablets to overdose. However, this is assuming all of the above are true. All Ecstasy tablets are different, and everyone's body is going to react differently.
You gotta take a lot .... Some people though amy feel that they have taken to much if they start getting really intense ecstasy rush's.... Ive had a friend who has experienced that twice and didnt like that very much but after that he rolled his nuts off and enjoyed the shit out of himself....
Uh, the ld 50's for mice are the closest thing that we have...and they tend to be accurate enough. There are no established ld 50's for humans (that I know of)...short of forced testing on people, how would we know?
" small risk of death. Approximately 2 per 100,000 users have extreme negative reactions resulting in death. (rare) " http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/mdma/mdma_effects.shtml
whatever the exact truth is the orginal statement is far from it. the biggest danger with E is not the drug itself but having something that isn't actually MDMA as others have stated...
A young guy in the same town as my folks committed suicide the other week and people are blaming e for it...apparently he too some when he went to "The Big Day Out" and got depressed afterwards and didn't shake the funk and when his folks went to the Anzac service he shot himself... Myself, I blame the gun but as far as I can tell from listening to people they mostly blame the E... so if you take into account deaths like this (not that I agree but just if) then there is probaly a higher rate of death as a result of e than through the immediate physical effects...
if every 1 in 4 people died who take e... i would have had a 50% chance of dying, and about 10 of my friends would be dead. And we are all alive.
Guns don't kill people, people do. Drugs don't kill people, people do. It's disgusting to see so many people come up with excuses to blame their problems on ANYTHING other than themselves.
