What a cool post! I'm so surprised no one else has posted?? Learning organic gardening/wildcrafting, for those not in the know, is the first step you can take to independence from agri-corp/GMO's in your pot. If you have space, grow something-if not, find out if there is a community garden nearby and if they have openings. If not, create a community garden! For urbanites, I suggest taking a class on identifying wild plants that are in your area. You'd be surprise how much food is around you and all you have to do is make sure its not near any man-made pollution sources (i.e. trash dumps/water treatment/any kinda mining operation) nor near a highway (aleast 200 feet or more away) and you can go at it.

So, back to the question-what's in my garden? This year we moved to a home w/ over a 1/4 acre of space.

    Fruit trees (9 in total):
    Loquat
    Blood Orange
    Grapefruit
    Lemon
    Plum
    Nectarines
    Tangerine
    Apricots
Mystery tree (has small white blossoms)
Had a cherry tree but it was too sick to live :(

4 (poss five) Big Grapevines (birds get 'em first it seems)
1 pecan tree (lots of yummy nuts full of good fat!)
Zillions of Lilac bushes that sweeting the air (can't eat 'em but smell good in the house)
    Many Tulips

Veggie Garden (lady who owned the house was like 80+ and still gardening) but the plot she cleared is too small so I'm gonna spread some stuff out using up additional space around the property. My thing is if I can't eat it, it ain't gonna stay here...except the lilacs, they smell damn good.
    ------------------
    Tomatoes
    Corn (organic/heriloom)
    bell peppers
    red onions
    lettuce (romaine, curly...mayyyyyybe iceberg)
    spinach
    green beans
    peas
    pumpkin
    watermelon
    chives
    garlic (mmmmmmmmm)
    jalapenos
    sunflowers
    pinto beans
    collards
    okra (for mom)
    carrots
    cucumbers
    spagetti squash
    gourd (for crafts)
    amaranth (birds again)
and anything else I can't think of but want.

    Herbs
    Rosemary
    lavendar (french and English)
    chamomile (german)
    basil (pesto!)
    mint (peppermint, some ordamentals)
    cilantro
    calendula
    chia
    red cloves
pythrum yeah misspelled big time (good natural insect repellant)
    angelica
    yerba buena
    thyme
    purple coneflower
    catnip
    summer savory
    valernia
and again anything else I think I can squeeze into a pot

Great blessings to Helios, Sun lord
    Happy planting!

    wow!!!!!

i'd love to grow stuff but i keep moving house so its a bit hard...

well i'm growing basil at the moment in my room and i'm gonna plant some rocket in pots on my windowsill. i'd love to grow more fruit and vegetables tho, well we usually manage tomatoes and runner beans and corn in the summer.

sod it! I'm gonna start planting stuff here anyway (i'm at my parents but only till the end of summer), and i'll just have to come back next year and visit to take care of them! yeah!!!!!!

    you have inspired me! x
