Yeah! The Doors were and still are the best band ever, so original. I was lucky enough to see them live last year with Ian Astbury replacing Jim (if that's possible) but they were amazing.

The Doors are the most overrated band of the '60s and Jim Morrison was the most overrated writer of the time as well. Most of his songs appear to have been written by a creatively-challenged third grader.

 

I just bought Strange Days just to see what the Doors are like outside of the hits...I don't understand why everyone says Jim is such a great poet/songwriter. God, compared to all the other bands of that era that ya'll could be listening to, the Doors are a disgrace.


I don't like the keyboards, I don't like the sound, I don't like the vocals, and I don't like the guitar. The Doors are really overrated, and I suggest that ya'll look up Fever Tree or the Elevators or even the Mothers if you want to get into some real music.

 

The Doors were the missing piece to my life. The Beatles and The Doors music has influenced me SO much. I love them with ALL my heart and soul. Especially Robby Krieger.... *sighs dreamily*:& .......what a cutie.......

 

I think those of you who have a low opinion of the Doors are not really GETTING IT are you? Open your ears and your mind and you might appreciate the feast before you!!!!

I like the music alot, but the long keyboard stuff is painful unless your really spaced out. I liked the band alot intill I saw the movie (The Doors) and found out how lame they were, except for Jim. Now I have alot of respect for Jim but I hate the other guys. They completly sold out without even telling Jim, thats lame. And they did a song for a video game with Snoop Dog... Withough Jim they don't really have the greatest idea of what good music is and what it stands for.

i used to adore doors...i have all albums..lp,cd,cassette,mp3,books,video and dvd...now i just like them...they have really good stuff...and some of morrison's thoughts very strong and logical...also manzarek's keyboard style is good too...my fav. when the music's over....
