Recently I've been training really hard, and lowering my body fat% down to around 8%, but I've basically lost any and all sex drive. I never get turned on anymore, rarely think about sex, should I be worried about this? Oh ya, aside from this I'm in the best health I've ever been in.
How long since you have eaten oily fish? EG Salmon. Also an apple might help or something made with apples.
I eat quite a bit of fish, either in tuna fish sandwiches, or in sushi. I eat apples pretty regularly.
I am not sure if tuna is an oily fish.Try sardines. If you are working out maybe you could increase your fat intake. As wll as your normal cooked breakfast include a couple of croissants. But make sure you buy ones made from butter. Is there any soy in your diet.If so try cutting it out.
No soy for this guy. I am training for distance running, so a low BF% is part of the territory. My BF% got down to 4% recently, at which point my body totally freaked out, and I was tired all the time, and always felt bad, except when I was running. On a training day where I am going for a looong time and then have work I'll eat around 7K calories, usually on an average day I'll eat around 4-5K. My normal diet consisted of whole wheat stuff, lots of pasta, fat mostly from peanut butter, lots of grains, This last week I ate 2 full boston cream pies to try and gain some weight back.
fat and cholesterol are necessary for the production of all hormones, including testosterone, which can directly effect your sex drive. If this continues, I wouldn't ignore it. If you don't have any sex drive, other hormonal problems could be occuring without immediate symptoms. I would give it a week or two, and if it doesn't resolve itself, see your doctor.
BTW, Too much oily fish could also be the problem (though, unlikely), because of mercury poisoning. I think the current reccomendation is two servings of fish per week.
