i just wanted to warn everybody to be careful when you make purchases with your credit card i wasnt so careful and in the past few month ive been srewed twice while makeing a purchase with my credit card.the first time i orderer a gift card from a comedy club for my boyfriends xmas present and it still has not came though ive complained several times they continue to ignore me and now its to late to make a claim so they can refuse it which means i mite have to end up at small claims court i also purchased a school application with my credit card and the women who made the tranaction was able to make a purchase since she had my info on the application she was able to get my credit infor because i had to fill out a form with the card info because she had all my info she was able purhase some flowers, send them to herself and say they were from me to thank her for helping me get into school-even though i never returned my application as i am looking at other options!this mess is going to take along time to get straigh luckily i was able to catch the fraud because i checked my bank statement and noticed something wasnt right so becareful who u give your credit card info out to,check your bank statements,be persisant if u dont get something u ordered and use cash as much as u can
    stay safe-amy
p.s i think young people are especially vulnerable and need to more careful with there cards as these people who commit fraud and identity theft know that young people dont know much about it and dont have as much experience with credit and debit card problems and probably dont think they would ever have any

Ok can't delete. Sorry just skimmed your post, thought you were talking about web ID theft.
I'm new here, getting used to the site, and I noticed you can't review the post you're replying to until now.
So from memory, I'd say someone's gotten ahold of your PIN, SSN, or something similar (even birthday or mother's maiden name can be useful for ID thieves).
Yeah, cut those cards up, lay low with cash for a while, and be sure no one has access to your personal info. Burn or tear up bank and credit card statements, and unless they offer to buy you a present, don't give out you birthday :)
