Here is a list of my favourate tunes at the moment... Could write more of course but that would take years.... 1. Pink Floyd - Echoes On their album 'Meddle' that came out just before dark side of the moon. It is epic! One of the best songs ever written simple as that. Has to be top of my list at the moment although its always changing! 2. The Beatles - I've got a feeling On 'Let it be'. For some reason this song has been cropping up quite alot recently! Probably something to do with 'naked'. There are so many great Beatles songs but this is the one for me at the mo. 3. Aim - The force (feat Q'n'C) My favourate Hip hop tune at the moment. First heard it a couple of years ago but didn't know what it was so couldn't find it. I have been praying for the past couple of years that I would hear it again... the other night it was playing in a bar and at last I have got it! 4. The Kinks - Waterloo Sunset A recent addition to the list. I am sure I have heard it many times before but only really noticed it this week. Had I been writing this list yestoday it wouldn't be on it. It is very worthy of being here. 5. The Doors - Riders on the Storm HAve started buying doors albims recently... lots of good tunes to choose from. Wanted to put 'Soul Kitchen' down but Riders. has stood the test of time better. 6. Bob Marley - Roots, Rock, Reggae You couldn't really have a top ten without paying homage to Bob. Its really his sound in general that is great and this song sums it up. 7.The Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter This one has definately stood the test of time and is a joy to listen to every time. It should be further up the list than some of the others really... 8. Morcheeba - Big Calm I am into most of Morcheebas stuff... again this song is representative of my love for the band as a whole. 9. A Tribe Called Quest - 1nce Again This is off my favourate Hip hop album; 'Beats, Rhymes and Life'. What has happened to hip hop since? 10. Coldplay - Don't Panic There seems to be a lack of modern stuff in this list so... I could probably go on writing a list all night. So much great music out there...
Pssst, Maon, "Animals" This is fun, my top of the pops this week would be... 1. David Bowie - All The Madmen 2. Buddy Holly - Everyday 3. Love - You Set The Scene 4. Pink Floyd - In The Flesh (Part 2) 5. Tyrannasaurous Rex - She Was Born To Be My Unicorn 6. The Beta Band - Wonderful 7. Super Furry Animals - Drygioni 8. Underworld - Juanita / Kiteless 9. Beck - Sing It Again 10. The Streets - It Was Supposed To Be So Easy
oooh nistix, some excellent choices! have you heard the live version of Dont PAnic? its lovely ok, a top ten for today: (in no particular order) 1. Neil Young / Buffalo Springfield - Expecting to Fly : god i love this song, but it makes me sad. 2. The Doves - There goes the Fear ; i love the whole albumn this is from, but this song especially, if just for the line "but don't look back as you're leaving town" - reminds me of going travelling. 3. The Doors - Indian Summer : just so purdy 4. Feeder - Oxygen ; a bit of an angsty brit pop song this, but one of their best albumn tracks. 5. David Bowie - Ashes to Ashes ; i was torn between this and Space Oddity, bot of which are a bit tragic, really. 6. Sarah MacLachlan - Angels ; token chick song! its tragic, tragic, tragic. over used in angsty moment in tv like Buffy, Alias and - i think i heard it on CSI!! but also in "city of angels" a film that made me cry like a bairn! its lovely, it is. 7. Muse - Sing for Absolution ; great track from their new albumn. the video if very good too - very "planet of the apes" ending! it's a bit epic fr todays market i think, but we loves it, precious! 8. Mr. Bungle - pink cigarette ; side project of the frontman (i think) of Faith no More, mr bungle have some very.. odd... songs (one about cottage cheese if I remember..) this one is about someone comitting suicide. lovely, eh? 9. SLeeper - What do i do now? ; from my indie days - aww, this was out when I was at school! every woman's cry against lazy boyfirends. 10. The Beatles - A day in the life ; i couldnt believe this was banned (or so my father told me, and he lies) for such trivial lines "you can tuen me on" i think. anyway, i like this for some reason, especially at the moment - usually my Beatle track in my top ten goes to Strawberry Fields.... its so wonderful *sigh* well, thats me.. although, if you hadnt already listed it, Waterloo Sunset would have been there.. i love it. they play it on Virgin quite a lot - go them! river xxxx
