yes, and I don't think it's fair. I've known plenty of men who lost custody to thier children because their wife is a bitch, and most of the time the courts rule in favor of mom. A mother is viewed as more important than a father because a lot of kids don't have one, more so thatn kids without a mother.
Yup... For some reason people think the Kids will do better with the mother... My friend's cousin right now is sleeping in the basement between a furnace and boiler cause the dogs need a bedroom to sleep in.. So she gets the floor in the basement... In a house with 12 other people who stole her deodertant, toothbrush, razors, and clothes... Its a shame... The Father has a beautiful home, nor record of ever doing anything wrong and has been fighting for custody of the kids for over a year now... Hes called Child services and is getting no where...
Absolutely not. In most states, in DISPUTED custody cases, men get custody in more than 75% of the cases. Judges see men who WANT custody as somehow saints, and will usually give them the rights. The reason you see more womyn with custody, is that most men don't dispute custody, and don't really want it, or only use it as a bargaining ploy, and drop it if it looks like they might actually win. (Not all men, but many.)
Depends on the country in the U.k. batman protested for fathers rights by climbing the bukingham palace wall (the bobbies nailed robin)
In most cases, yes I think the father is at a disadvantage. The mother has to be a real wreak in order for the courts to give the father custody.
WOW! I'm not trying to be mean towards you, but where are you getting this "75%" from? That is a crock of shit! It is almost laughable. In most custody cases, the mother wins unless she is a really bad mother which is hard to prove in the court's eyes. I know, because I went throught it and still am. Go ask any lawyer or anyone that works in custody social work and see if they agree with that "75%". I have friends that are lawyers and friends that are in social work and they all say that the court's are a lot more sympethic towards the mother........ ~namaste~
Bull Shit especially in Texas. Don't even go there w/that crap... Before you even start, I have the tee shirts...
I really don't think that men are at a disadvantage when it comes to custody. For the most part, when it comes to custody battles, I think the courts get it right. Generally women place a greater priority on child rearing then men do. I'm not saying that it is true in all cases, but it is in most and that is why I feel that women more often than not receive custody after a divorce. There are certainly exceptions to this though.
I'm disappointed but I suppose most aren't old enough to Think of these Matters yet. Yep, it will affect the majority here before All's said n done...
