I have an intense fear of needles. Most five year olds can handle shots better than I can. I made a consious effort not to mention that I needed a hepititus shot for 4 years, until I finally had to because they wouldn't let me into college if I didn't. I can't handle watching other people get shots, either. I had my eyes closed throughout half of Trainspotting. Even reading about shots scared the hell out of me.

Well, last night I drempt that I needed some sort of operation, and they were going to cut me open with a saw. That didn't go over well. I got up and ran. I ran thru these woods. For some reason, they were chasing me with a needle. It was a morphine needle. I don't know why it was morphine, but it was. Anyway, I'm running thru the woods, and I bump into this cult leader. He talks to me about something, and I figure out quickly that he's a con-artist. And he asks for money just for talking to me. I don't have any money. Well, he pulls out a needle, and he starts chasing me. It was horrible.

Sharp objects usually connote treachery (like a knife symbolising a 'stab in the back').

Since it was morphine it could connote that someone may seduce you to try drugs, or the treachery could involve drugs.

Your running into the woods, the wilderness, is your effort to resist the temptation.

Hi feministhippy ~ I'm a practitioner of homoeopathic medicine and I reckon you should see a classical homoeopath, you'll be cured in an instant!
Fear of needles is basically covered by two homoeopathic medicines ~ Apis mellifica (bee sting) and Silicia (flint), one of which may well be indicated.
If you have a history that involves a bee sting reaction, eating honey each day may well ameliorate your needle fear symptoms.

Well, I have gotten stung a lot, but that's not where my fear come from. I remember exactly how it came. Stupidest thing, too: My brother and I used to watch the X-Files a lot together. When I was about 8 years old, there was this one episode on where this guy killed people by using needles. Something that froze your blood or something weird like that. I don't get scared easily by TV shows (especially that show), but for some reason, that really freaked me out and I just can't get over that fear.
