Some of you wanted to know when my baby was finally born. Well, she was born at home last night at 9:23 p.m. She weighs 9 lbs 11 oz and is 20 1/2 in long. She is beautiful! She was born without medical assistance. I feel so empowered! I didn't even tear (though I am really sore). I did some of the labor in my tub and when I pushed I went under the water a little. After the baby was cleaned up I took a shower to wash all sorts of ickyness from my hair and body (water gets really nasty when you birth in it). Ever since my dreads are so awesome! I mean, they're really knotted. Something in all that ickiness really helped them out. lol *big hugs* Jessie
are you saying that blood and afterbirth got stuck in your dreads and helped them dread up better? no offense, but that makes me feel nauseaus. congrats on your beautiful baby girl though!
AWWWW!!! wonderful!!! I’m sooooooo happy for you!!! hahah i was over 12 and half pounds when I was born ,, I’m glad to hear your dreads are doing well!!!! Lots of love and light!!!!
wow thats amazing! you did it all by yourself!! *huggles* im so proud of you!! ... was there not even a midwife there to help you?? *huggles* congradulations.
The two of you are so cute together! Congrats, I am jealous, I want a lil baby so bad now. Jah bless to both of ya...
Well i dont really know you or anything. I think it's super cool that you had her at home. I am a worry wart though and you should go get checked and get her checked just to make sure your not on shaky ground either of you. But again dont get me wrong i suport your chioce I jsut want you to be ok. take care...love and light...gilli
*hugs* Thanks everyone. oh, and the whole birth helping my dreads thing...I just thought it was funny how well they were knotted compared to the day before. It probably wasn't all the ick that made them knot so well but rather the sweating, moving around, etc. I had my fleece band over my head for most of the labor which lasted a long time. So, that helped too. lol It was all very strange and beautiful at the same time. Oh, and don't worry about our health. We're both doing really well and the baby has a wellness appt. with our ped. on Wednesday. *hugs to all* Jessie
aww thats sooo awesome. thats how i want to have my baby if i ever have one....best of wishes to the both of you

congrats and what a beautiful baby... what did u name her? How is big brother liking her? I'm glad you had such a positive experiance and everything turned out well. *sigh* Giving birth is the most wonderful, beautiful experiance in the world... I'm envious! lol
Wow, Congrats! I had my daughter unassisted at home 19 months ago and it was the most amazing, empowering, intensely wonderful thing I have ever done. I hope it was for you too. Enjoy getting to know each other and your new family.
Thanks guys. Yeah, having her at home was very empowering. It was also very healing for me (my son was a c-section baby). Her name is Kiriana. It means "graceful fish" in Greek though we found that out after we decided on the name. lol Kind of fits in a way. Orion, my son, is totally loving her. He's so cute about it! Yesterday the three of us were laying in bed and Kiriana had her eyes open and was looking at him. He was so excited about that! lol The first thing he said to me when he saw her was "Oh she's so cool!" hehe *hugs to all* Jessie
