I think I would like to be a director... but I would rather be a writer/assistant director type of thing
funny you should mention that. Im my vishal arts course we just started Lens Based Media....I I have to make a short film (no less then 3 mins no longer then 5) yay me! I already have heeps of ideas!
I personally cannot have someone else direct a script i wrote. But i feel i have a strength in directing other people's scripts. I love making film, i dont have time for it at the moment. I just dont like bothering with camera angle and preparing stuff. I like concieving the cahracters movements, gestures, dialogue, timing, concept. im into all the organic things, and not necessarily the specifics of the film element. im a sloppy editor. i can be a bit controlling though and direct every single expression an actor makes sometimes. ive only done films in highschool though, nothing professional. still, some has been pretty awesome
A good friend of mine has his own amateur production company that I write for and occasionally help to direct. I've written a few screenplays but most have gotten scrapped for various reasons. I have a realy good idea in my head but haven't been able to verbalize it onto paper yet.
ir seems great to make you own film. making a shortfilm isn't easy, but i know some belgian filmmakers who did really great!
side note...Troy wasnt a myth, it was historical events...just in the hollywood mnovie, they removed all the religion from it Ad i haeva question, is it gonna be bad like the hollywood movie, and kill ppeople who arent supposed to die, kill Achilles the wrong way, let Helen escape?
