Greetings to all! My passport arrived today. Now I can travel abroad. I have been to Canada and Mexico, but never "abroad". I am so excited about my trip to Europe, and especially Amsterdam, words cannot convey my excitement. This is a big milestone in my life. My father was in Europe (during WWII). My brother served in Vietnam and Germany (he was drafted). I may be the first person in my family to go back to Europe without having to carry a gun since the Kaiser kicked out all the Mennonites. It is a good day for me. A big smile is on my face. Only 75 days until I float on a canal boat in A-dam. Feel free to enjoy my happiness. Gilby
how old are you? better wayyyy later than never. have a good time...lets see, nam was over by 1976 and I know your brother didn't carry a gun in germany. and your only now getting your passport? enjoy a-dam...wow.....euro/ us army vet
I know I am old man, 46 years old. Is there an age limit to travel to A-dam? And I didn’t mean to imply that carrying a gun in Europe was a good thing or something to be practically proud of. Unfortunately there is still a US military presence in Germany today. And they do carry guns. The world would be a better place if all the “Yanks” would come home.
Relax man, he was just saying he wondered if your brother was both a ww2 and a viet vet cuz you said he'd been stationed in germany. Imagine that, it be like grandpa in the foxhole with you.
Your right mafuman, I did not get it...... And I do need to relax, cut way back on buying weed trying to save cash for my trip in 74 days....
i am very jealous. i was looking for a job and hoping that when i got one they would tell me that i needed to start in two weeks or something and then i would have taken off to Amsterdam for a quick jaunt. but alas i start monday.
