 I used to have an album called "We're All Bonzos on This Bus." Lost it years ago and cant remember who did it. I think you need to be on acid to understand it.
    Does anyone remember it?

That would be the Firesign Theater. I used to enjoy there routines a great deal. I believe they got there start on underground radio in late 1966 or early 1967 in LA. I can remember watching old Laurel-Hardy and Flash Gordon movies [without sound] and listening to there radio show when I lived in the Haight during the summer of 1968 when they were doing the Wizard of OZ film festival routine. I believe there first album was released sometime in early 1968 and was called "Waiting for the Electrician or something like that"? I remember it had the Lone Ranger routine on it. :) The "Were all Bozos on this Bus" album was one of there most famous. I believe, it came out in 1971. By then, The Firesign Theater was a regular on many college campuses, progressive FM radio stations and had won over numerous heads both young and old.

Thanks WE1. Actually I remembered later that it was the Firesign Theater. It just came to me while I was perusing the leeks at the grocery store.

Now I gotta see if I can find something of theirs out there, I don't think they were very big with recordings, but you never know what you can find unless you look.

I never saw them live, sad to say, but I did see Frank Zappa and the Mothers at UCLA, they played with the Fugs who did a bit of dwarf tossing as part of their show, I think that was my favorite out of all that I saw. So sad Frank had to die, he was brilliant. :p

Bozos... it's bozo. Like in Bozo the Clown, cause we all clowns and we ridin' on thee bus.

Sorry if your initial impression of my reply would put me in the feisty catagory... I'm not being so. I just have a special interest in Firesign Theater and, "We're All Bozos On This Bus" is one of my all time Favs.

Aw Crap! I just scrolled down to see that We1 has made the correction without being a loud mouth like me... sorry again.

Hey Sam, no need for apologies, as soon as I read your post I sorta did the "duh" thing. How could I not remember that. Creeping senility probably. Its been a long time. Thanks for setting the record straight. :p

I woke up this morning with that song "Fish Heads" stuck in my head, maybe that'll give you a clue about my mental health.

Now you've got me singing it too. I like this song!

Fish heads fish heads roly poly fish heads
Fish heads fish heads eat them up yum

In the morning laughing happy fish heads
In the evening floating in the soup

Ask a fish head anything you want to
They won't answer they can't talk

I took a fish head out to see a movie
Didn't have to pay to get it in

They can't play baseball they don't wear sweaters
They're not good dancers they don't play drums

Roly poly fish heads are never seen drinking cappuccino
In Italian restaurants with oriental women yeah

Now, that's the kind of mental health I likes!

AHA! Now I know where you got tangled up, Grendel...

It must because you were thinking on the movie, Bedtime for Bonzo... in relation to the former president dying.

My favorite Firesign. Would love to get my hands on it again. Think I may have a copy on cassette. I'll look.
