State of the Union address highlights: Trump clashes with Democrats in speech declaring a 'golden age' of America excerpt: Fact check: Trump says egg and beef prices are declining Statement “The price of eggs is down 60%. ... And even beef, which was very high, is starting to come down significantly.” Verdict Egg prices came down over the last year — dipping around 48% from January 2025 to January 2026, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Meanwhile, beef prices keep hitting all-time highs — with ground beef reaching a fresh record at $6.75 per pound last month, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
To the chagrin of U.S. ranchers, Trump made a decision that the U.S. will import extra beef from Argentina. Trump gave $20 billion of U.S. taxpayer money to Argentina to bail out its economy. Trump adores the president of Argentina who gifted Musk a big chain saw so that Musk could use it symbolically on stage to express his pathological desire to fire federal workers, the most vulnerable ones who are the easiest to fire.

She had ordered a detained immigrant to be released in Minnesota, but instead he was let go in El Paso, where he had to spend the night in a shelter. All his property was supposed to have been returned, but the government was still holding his identity papers. “Why should I not hold you in contempt?” the judge asked a Justice Department lawyer at a hearing last week. Instead of answers, she got excuses. “I don’t think there was ever any intention to defy the court orders,” said the lawyer, Matthew Isihara, a military judge advocate on temporary assignment to the Justice Department. “We were doing our best and things, unfortunately, slipped — slipped through the cracks.”
California mother with legal permission to live in US deported in under 24 hours By Mathew Miranda Updated February 23, 2026 2:30 PM https://www.sacbee.com/news/california/article314793811.html excerpt: "Maria de Jesus Estrada Juarez confidently walked to her green card appointment in downtown Sacramento on Wednesday morning. She had seen the reports of other immigrants arrested at similar check-ins. Estrada Juarez believed her case would be different. In her hands, she carried a white binder chronicling 27 years in California — her high school diploma, years of tax filings, vaccine records and paperwork showing she had repeatedly obtained federal permission to remain in the country. But the appointment meant to secure her American future instead ended it. Federal agents arrested her less than one hour after she arrived in the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Sacramento field office. By the next morning, she was in Mexico."

Just talked to one of my neighbors. She worked for the Republican PA House of Representatives for 35 years and just attended a reunion with some of her ex coworkers...all Republicans. She said only one watched Trump's state of the union and then turned it off after ten minutes as she was disgusted. Not one of them is supporting Trump.
