Trump administration slams New York Fed study that says US consumers bear the cost of tariffs

    excerpts:

"The Trump administration is disputing a new paper from the New York Federal Reserve asserting that US consumers and businesses are bearing the bulk of the higher costs from tariffs imposed last year."

"The analysis covered 12-month changes from January 2024 through November 2025 (the most recent available data). The analysis also noted how the pass-through of costs changed over the course of 2025. For instance, by November, the pass-through of costs borne in the US had declined to 86%.'

    https://www.americanimmigrationcoun...y-illegal-immigrant-is-more-than-just-a-term/

    excerpt:

What we are struggling for in capturing the nature of illegal immigration as it affects individuals; however, is a kind of precision that may not be possible. Immigration law is so complex that someone’s legal status can very often be in flux. One can enter the country lawfully, but lose that status in a host of ways, from overstaying a visa, dropping out of school, switching to a new job, to committing a crime. One can be brought to the U.S. as a child with no idea that laws are being broken. One can sacrifice everything, risking life and limb to cross the border, because the concept of “legal” may not mean much when your family is starving. In other words, we may focus too much on trying to pack everything that defines our immigration crisis into the terms “illegal immigrant” and “illegal immigration.”

Voters who were charged with voter fraud after the 2020 election turned out to be Trump supporters.

One used his deceased wife's ballot to vote twice for Trump while lying that a Democrat supposedly did it to vote for Biden and that it supposedly proved Trump was right all along about Democrats supposedly voting fraudulantly.

Another group of people in a retirement community in Florida were charged with voting for Trump illegally but were let off easy.

Manic Trump, 79, Unleashes Deranged Conspiracy Posting Rampage

    excerpt:

"Last week, House Republicans passed the SAVE America Act, an updated version of a bill that stalled last year in the Senate that would put onerous new requirements on voters and county election officials.

Voters would be required to appear in person and present proof of their citizenship when registering to vote, including providing a passport or a physical copy of their birth certificate, along with proof of residency in the state where they’re voting.

Women who changed their last names after getting married would need to provide additional documents, such as a marriage certificate, to prove their citizenship.

The law would take effect immediately, even though about 21 million Americans don’t have ready access to the necessary documents, according to the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University."

Manic Trump, 79, Unleashes Deranged Conspiracy Posting Rampage

    excerpt:

“In the 2020 election, states using Dominion voting machines allegedly switched 435,000 votes from Trump to Biden and deleted 2.7 MILLION Trump votes, including 1 MILLION in Pennsylvania,” read one of the false posts that Trump shared.

With Collins who has climbed on board, the GOP has 50 votes. Now they want to use tricks to get rid of the filibuster so that the bill can be passed with only 50 votes.

Trump's election bill tops 50 Senate votes, but Democrats could still block it

    excerpt:

If it were a simple majority vote, Collins’ support would be enough. Vice President JD Vance could break the tie and send it to Trump’s desk to become law. But Collins made clear she does not support gutting the filibuster to do that.

“I oppose eliminating the legislative filibuster,” she said. “The filibuster is an important protection for the rights of the minority party that requires senators to work together in the best interest of the country.”

Trump's election bill tops 50 Senate votes, but Democrats could still block it

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON — The SAVE America Act to require proof of citizenship nationwide to register to vote and overhaul voting laws has now topped 50 votes in the Republican-controlled Senate.

The bill is supported by President Donald Trump and passed the House last week, meaning the Senate’s 60-vote filibuster rule is the only thing standing in the way of it becoming law."

Trump Org. Applies For Trademarks For Airports Not Yet Named For Him
By Suzanne Rowan Kelleher, Forbes Staff.

    https://www.forbes.com/sites/suzann.../trump-org-trademarks-airports-named-for-him/

    excerpt:

This is unprecedented. Many airports in the U.S.—including Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington and Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas—are named for political figures. But commercial airports in the United States are virtually all publicly owned and operated by a state or local municipality that controls the trademarked name. Revenue is generated through “user-pays” models, where the airport charges usage fees to airlines (and passed on to customers), as well as through other streams such as parking fees, rental car facility charges, concessions and so on. “Normally, naming rights of an airport are honorary. They're not meant to be for financial gain.”

    Gestapo - Wikipedia

    excerpt:

"The Gestapo committed widespread atrocities during its existence. The power of the Gestapo was used to focus upon political opponents, ideological dissenters (clergy and religious organisations), career criminals, the Sinti and Roma population, handicapped persons, homosexuals, and, above all, the Jews.[4]

Those arrested by the Gestapo were often held without judicial process, and political prisoners throughout Germany—and from 1941, throughout the occupied territories under the Night and Fog Decree (German: Nacht und Nebel)—simply disappeared while in Gestapo custody.[5]

Contrary to popular perception, the Gestapo was actually a relatively small organization with limited surveillance capability; still it proved extremely effective due to the willingness of ordinary Germans to report on fellow citizens.

During World War II, the Gestapo played a key role in the Holocaust. After the war ended, the Gestapo was declared a criminal organisation by the International Military Tribunal (IMT) at the Nuremberg trials, and several top Gestapo members were sentenced to death.[6]"

Now that Tessa Petit has made such a remark, Trump will be targeting her for retaliattion, such as trying to indict her for mortgage fraud.

Trump arrested Ozturk, a student at Tufts University, who was a co-author of a paper criticizing the Israeli government for killing Palestinians. Trump revoked her student visa without informing her. He had his unmarked agents in unmarked vehicles arrest her on the street while she was walking to a social gathering. She was in a detention camp for six weeks before attorneys were able to release her.

Former Prince Andrew arrested over suspected misconduct in public office revealed in Epstein files

Former Prince Andrew arrested over suspected misconduct in public office revealed in Epstein files

    excerpt:

"The then-Prince Andrew sat down for an in-depth interview with the BBC's "Newsnight" in 2019 to address his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein — a bold and rare move aimed at clearing his name.

Instead of revamping his public image and stamping out talk of his ties to the late convicted sex offender, the interview did the exact opposite. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was ridiculed by the British media, criticized for defending his friendship with Epstein and accused of failing to convey empathy for Epstein's victims."

Governors group skips White House meeting after Trump refused to invite two Democrats

    excerpt:

Beyond the White House meeting, some governors also shared pointed criticisms of the administration's ever-expanding power. They bemoaned the unwillingness of the Republican-controlled Congress to limit Trump's ambitions and they cast themselves as counterweights to the executive.

"Presidents aren't supposed to do this stuff," Cox said. "Congress needs to get their act together. And stop performing for TikTok and actually start doing stuff. That's the flaw we're dealing with right now."

Cox added that "it is up to the states to hold the line."

Supreme Court strikes down most of Trump's tariffs in a major blow to the president
The decision does not affect all of Trump's tariffs but invalidates those implemented using an emergency law.

Supreme Court strikes down most of Trump's tariffs in a major blow to the president

    excerpt:

"Speaking at the White House, Trump harshly criticized the Supreme Court majority, describing the decision as a "disgrace to our" nation and the justices in the majority as "very unpatriotic and disloyal to the Constitution," while suggesting they were "swayed by foreign interests."

Trump's ability to impose tariffs using other laws is not affected by the ruling, and Trump said he plans to use those authorities to impose new duties on a global basis. He said he will soon implement a 10% global tariff, which would be a reduction for nearly all foreign nations."
