....the most frightening aspect of all of this toxic hatred and intolerance is that there are far too many sinister echoes of the Third Reich.....too many hellish reminders of that horrific period in history...............

Just heard on the local news that, this afternoon (Thursday), NYC officials will be on hand to re-raise the Pride Flag at the Stonewall Monument in New York......glad to see somecity officials balls and backbone, for a change.

I had thought that flag was put back yesterday; it WILL be back today.......a certain party at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, however, is sure to throw another tantrum and spew further threats......then again, who the hell cares.............

 

Distressing to see the vindictiveness in removing the pride flag from Stonewall Square in NYC. It is always a pilgrimage stop when visiting Grenwich Village. Everyone together can celebrate a ritual of partying in peace & safety with one's companions.
Good for New Yorkers that the Flag is replaced.

 

I totally agree; the level of vehement vindictiveness is truly frightening, indeed.

But, here, in this instance at least, we CAN celebrate those those influential folks with backbone and a solid sense of decency and respect who bring light, to where there was darkness!

Not surprised that NYC told Hitl...um, Trump to kiss their Big Apple ass on this one. Put the flag back where it belongs and fuck his attempt to once again erase and rewrite history.

.....never ceases to amaze me how so much bigotry, intolerance, and hatred is unleashed simply by the flying of a simple flag.........so much for being "civilized"........an ignorant society simply never learns....

 

What's simple about it? It's not the flag - it's what it represents; it's the cold, hard, slap in the face to everyone who believes in heterosexuality being the only way to be. No one should be amazed at the great angst that flag makes some people feel.

Sadly, that disrespect is to be expected. If you're not like us, you're against us and we will try to fuck you over at every chance there is to fuck you over including disrespecting everything that you believe in. This, just as sadly, is human nature. What's the solution? You continue to be proud of what the flag represents; you let the haters know that their disrespect doesn't bother you because you have the right to be whoever - and whatever - you want and need to be. Live your life and don't ever buy into the dumb shit because if you let their stupidity bother you, they win.

I think that what irks me the most about bigots these days is that they are so goddamn smug in their ignorance, they think that THEIR way is the ONLY way, and, fuck, do they ever try to drive that point home.
