Trump's remarks in 2020 about USMCA (formerly NAFTA).

Remarks by President Trump at a Signing Ceremony for the United States-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement – The White House

    excerpt:

"The USMCA is the largest, fairest, most balanced, and modern trade agreement ever achieved. There’s never been anything like it. Other countries are now looking at it, but there can’t be a border like that because, believe it or not, that is by far the biggest border anywhere in the world, in terms of economy, in terms of people. There’s nothing even close."

Trump officials blast electeds’ plan to re-raise Rainbow Flag: ‘Trying to distract from their recent failures’

    excerpt:

"On Feb. 9, Gay City News was the first to report on the federal government’s removal of the flag, which the National Park Service said was due to “government-wide guidance” stating that “only the US flag and other congressionally or departmentally authorized flags are flown on NPS-managed flagpoles, with limited exceptions.”

Hoylman-Sigal said he and the other elected officials are planning to raise the flag regardless of the federal government’s policies."

When quesitoned by Congress, Lutnick admiited he visited Epstein's island years after saying he had dissociated himself from him.

Trump made similar remarks when he said he dissociated himself from Epstein. Records show that Epstein was a member of Trump's Mar-a-Lago for years after the supposed dissociation.

Bondi is U.S. Attorney General. She had a combative session this week at Congress. She said she's defending Trump. She also acted like she was in charge of the Congressional hearing which was held to question her, not the other way around.

The Deputy Attorney General of the U.S. is Todd Blanche, Trump's former personal criminal defense attorney.

Blanche interviewed Epstein's partner, Maxwell, in private for two days. Just after the meetings, she was released from a high security prison in Florida to a low security prison in Texas. The Bureau of Prisons gave no explanation. Neither did the Trump administration.

Trump is upset that his pick for U.S. Attorney Sarcone, who had been serving on an acting basis, in the northern district of NY was ruled by Judge Kinsella to have been illegally appointed.

Trump's deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche, proclaimed that Judge Kinsella was fired by the Trump administration. Blanches says that judges don't pick U.S. Attorneys; the POTUS does.

Trump wants his picks for U.S. Attorney in NY to prosecute his political foes such as Letitia James.

If a U.S. Attorney picked by Trump is operating illegally, such as being in an acting role beyond the allowed limit of time, it's illegal and a judge can remove the attorney. Trump may be allowed to pick attorneys, but if they are serving illegally the courts can remove them.

A similar situation developed with Trump's pick of Halligan who was determined by the court to be serving illegally. Halligan was removed.

Lindsey Halligan is no longer employed by the Justice Department after her departure from Virginia U.S. attorney's office
Halligan, who had no prosecutorial experience, stepped down from her post in the Eastern District of Virginia after a judge ruled she was "masquerading" as U.S. attorney.

"Lindsey Halligan is no longer employed by the Justice Department after her departure from Virginia U.S. attorney's office

    excerpt:

"Halligan, who lacked any prior prosecutorial experience, stepped down last week from her proclaimed role as interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, a position a judge found she unlawfully held. It was not entirely clear last week whether Halligan would assume a new role at the Justice Department, as Alina Habba did after federal appeals court judges upheld her disqualification as acting U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey in December. On Monday, the 3rd Circuit declined Habba's request for a full appeals court re-hearing of last month's decision by a three-judge panel.""

Trump has been playing games with his assignments, such as trying to insert people into U.S. Attorney positions in acting roles that have gone beyond the time limit permitted for an acting position. After the time limit has been exceeded, such a pick by the president needs to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate. Trump knows he would have difficulty obtaining Senate confirmation for people like Halligan, like he did trying to make Matt Gaetz U.S. Attorney General. Even the GOP in Congress couldn't stomach that attempt.

The attorneys have to be picked legally and have to be serving their positions legally.

The fact that Trump selects them doesn't mean he has an unanswerable infinite authority and can keep attorneys active after their acting role time allowance has expired.

    Not mentioned in the article.

    6. Trump's mental and physical condition is clearly deteriorating.

Trump has made that fact a greater negative for himself by his incessant mocking of others for supposedly being in a declining state and his claims about how damaging it is (when it's someone else but not himself).

He put himself up on a pedestal based on his perceived mental and physical prowess. It makes him all the more vulnerable when people notice his condition is declining.

Trump's deportation policy situation in 2026.

He can continue with his full-force, violent deportation crusade in 2026 and risk losing control of the House after the November 2026 elections.

Or he can reduce his violence in 2026, hope for keeping control of the House in November 2026, and then resume his violent full-force deportations post-2026 election for the final two years of his term.

If he eases off in 2026 and if the GOP loses in 2026, he squandered a year's worth of his full-force violent deportation campaign (to the chagrin of him and Miller).

It appears that he is choosing to ease off for 2026 (at least until the November elections have occurred).

Retaliatory tariffs by other countries are damaging American workers. Liquor distilleries in the U.S. are discovering it as they have to close due to reduced exports. The tourism industry is being injured significantly, particularly by the loss of Canadians who would have otherwise visited the U.S.

What Trump proclaims to be a 'win' he garnered for the American worker is fictitious when it is neutralized by losses.

A journalist referred to it as robbing Peter to pay Peter.

Whatever extra tax refund people are going to get from Trump in 2026 will be offset by his tariffs that consumers ultimately pay with higher prices or lost jobs, lower pay, or less hours because of American businesses needing to cut costs to try to offset Trump's tariffs. Making products cheaper and flimsier and putting less product in the box is another approach to reduce the extra costs of his tariffs.

Trump news at a glance: Europe must stand up to Trump and his ‘demolition men’, new report says

    excerpt:

"The report also suggests European leaders need to adapt to the techniques of the Trump administration and be more daring in how they make decisions and communicate. “Effectively pushing back against the demolition men requires much more political courage and innovative thought. The actors defending international rules and institutions need to be just as bold as the actors who seek to destroy them,” it says."

    excerpt:

The Washington Coal Club, through National Coal Council President James Grech, then presented Trump with the “Undisputed Champion of Beautiful Clean Coal” award. Like the “FIFA Peace Prize,” Trump was its first recipient.

Nasty Trump making a threat against the brand new Gordie Howe Bridge connecting Windsor CA to Detroit.
A tremendous effort to establish transport by Canada who paid for the Bridge. Another needless assault on our northern Neighbor. The WSJ also points out that Michigan will be electing a new Governor and Senator this fall, Trumps nasty actions jeopordise his prospects in the election.
