When did your "desires" begin to shift more towards males?

It's true that it never takes a holiday but for a guy to "break out" into having sex with men, you cannot pay attention to this dumb shit. Society has always had an issue with anyone who isn't straight, but you will notice that this has never stopped anyone from not being straight, has it? Religions have a problem with anyone who isn't straight... and the world is still full of people who aren't straight, isn't it?

I for one am glad for the Sexual Revolution, which among other things got the ball rolling for the LGBT community and started to unravel heteronormativity. I know queerness wasn't a primary focus at first but it is included by its nature and it has slowly come into focus. At least by now we have same sex marriage in the US and most Western countries, if we wanna use that as a litmus test of queer acceptance in society. Unfortunately the so called Moral Majority lumped AIDS with homosexuality to make gays the new communists in the '80s, but we got back to a normal baseline of homophobia, which keeps sinking.
We don't have to worry so much about religion so much at least in the US because people don't seem to be as religious anymore, if religion is fundamentally homophobic. Unfortunately religious nationalism is on the rise and that is explicitly and emphatically homophobic, as well as a bunch of other unnecessary phobics. Let's hope that blows over as Americans keep coming to their senses and realize this GOP MAGAt regime that wants to undo decades of progress is doing more harm than good for everyone.

 

During the Revolution, shit, my crazy young and horny ass was getting lots of dick and pussy from men and women who weren't ashamed of being bisexual and were very damned proud of having escaped the establishment's prudish sexual values. The Moral Majority was losing their shit because they called themselves putting the kibosh on homosexuality when it became clear to them that they had more than homosexuals to deal with - like a whole fucking country full of bisexual men and women who were thumbing their nose at traditional sexual values and I was quite okay with thumbing my nose right along with them.

When HIV/AIDS hit American soil, the word was that the prime vector was homosexual intravenous drug users, two demographics that the Moral Majority and, really, society-at-large saw as being the precursors of the downfall of our morality and given the number of overdose deaths and especially in the inner cities, they sought to "kill two birds" with one virus and they were doing good until a monogamous, heterosexual couple came down with the virus and lots of people who weren't homosexual intravenous drug users were getting the virus and dying.

But this is ancient history. HIV can be rendered undetectable and AIDS is no longer the death sentence it originally was; religions across the globe are 'panicking' because there are less and less people sitting in pews and in the UK, the Catholic Church is having fits because so many residents have cut ties with religion. Even here in America, I know way too many people who gave up on religion but not their belief in God; they either made their peace with God over their sexuality or, as it was being said time and time again, "If God didn't mean for me to be this way, I wouldn't be this way!"

The GOP and MAGA are fools to believe that to erase history and other Nazi-like shit they've been doing is going to make America great again but their bullshit will likely result in Americans rebelling and flaunting their bi- and homosexuality and just like they did when the Sexual Revolution jumped off...

How sickening it was, back in the days after Rock Hudson passed, and AIDS gave the bigots one helluva field day, saying that AIDS was God's rightful way of punishing "queers" and "fags".

As if the AIDS jokes were not sickening enough, the ones concerning sickle cell anemia were both disgusting and cruel.

How ironic that a str8 co-worker (mature,married, and screwing pussy on the side non-stop) ended up becoming SERIOUSLY ill from having unprotected sex with local prostitutes (in the Caribbean and elsewhere overseas, as well as here at home)

To be fair the emphasis of these Christian Nationalists and the MAGAts right now against the LGBT community seems to be on the trans community, which I am solidly not a part of (though I do support). It doesn't mean they're not ever gonna go after the LGB as fiercely as the T.
Maybe to kind of bring the discussion back to the original topic, one reason my desires might be shifting towards males is because of the threat to queer rights. Whether or not in the end it turns out I like guys I reserve my right to like guys and do with that desire whatever I would do with my desire to like women. That said, an act of intimacy with a member of the same sex would be to me among other things an act of defiance, a statement.
In fact one of my fantasies is to make the gayest of porn that's really a sociopolitical message against homophobia. I'd start off by saying something like "Don't let the patriarchy tell you how to have fun" and maybe unrelated things like ACAB, depending on how political we'd wanna get. Then I'd get railed on camera, moan about how great it is and it would be a political statement. Talk about flaunting!

 

That coworker didn't sound like much of a thinking person, did he? He was influenced more by toxic masculinity than reason.
I was just a kid but I remember the talk about how the people who had AIDS deserved it. The demographics seemed to support this idea but even at my tweens I didn't understand how it wouldn't affect someone who wasn't a homosexual male who came in contact with HIV, or how other populations wouldn't eventually become infected.
Fortunately I have overcome a lot of lower middle class "conceptions" about this and a whole lot of other things.
Unfortunately we have had brilliant politicians who have offered gems like a woman won't get pregnant if she's getting raped.

I've said it before: The intolerance and homophobia will always be with us but the question is... are you going to let that stop you from being the man you want to be sexually? Romantically? Both? Most people don't give a fuck if you're gay or bi as long as you're not messing with them. I go to the market and see gay couples behaving like any other couple; I go to a doctor's appointment, notice gay couples who are, like me, being a patient and waiting to be seen. Even if they have some objection, they keep it to themselves because the last thing they want to do is make a scene - and I haven't seen a gay couple confronted in like 25 years or more.

 

They might not give a fuck but some people in their minds are judgin' something fierce! They'll be polite if two of "them" walk holding hands down the street and hold their, um, bewilderment, but if one of their precious fucking children should catch site of "them" acting like the sodomites they are...hooboy...watch John Birch and the PTA start bitching about saving the children and family values and everybody eroding Christianity and replacement theory and Jewish space lasers...

 

If they want to judge in their mind - while keeping quiet - that's fine. We've been trying to eradicate homosexuality and homosexual behaviors like it's been a plague on our global societies and all because religion says it's evil and, even then, it's only evil because "Jack" and "Eduard" sucking each other off isn't making any babies. This is ancient thinking and we can make babies without the physical act of sex taking place but religion continues to vilify homosexuality and its behaviors even though they've been fighting a losing battle all along.

Nothing has stopped people from not being straight if they don't want to be. Nothing. The haters continue to rant and rave and wave their bibles in the air and... Jack is sliding his dick into Eduard's backside; across town, "Jennifer" has her face buried in her wife's pussy and "Jeanette" is loudly professing her love for her spouse. In the next county, "Rob" and "Will," both who are married men, are eyeing each other's boner hungrily because they only have an hour before their wives return from shopping and they once again take advantage of the opportunity to orally pleasure each other and as they've been doing for the last 14 years.

Meanwhile, anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment continues to raise its ugly head, more bibles get to thumping everywhere and while they do this, I'm sucking a nut out of my neighbor and he's howling for Jesus to come help him; somewhere else in the country, Papa and his young lover are window shopping and holding hands and enjoying being together and the bond that their feelings has created and Papa's already thinking about his young lover ravishing him when they get home... while people vocally or silently bemoan the fact that nothing they'd said or done has stopped people from not being heterosexual.

I'll keep saying this: If you're more concerned with shit like this than you are working on making sense of this shift in your desires, you're paying attention to the wrong thing.

Are those Christian values being eroded? Shit, they've been eroding all along. The PTA wants to save the children? The same children who have been having same-sex sex and aren't even bothered by the religious, moral, and social prohibitions? The same children who are doing this because it's prohibited? Are these the children the PTA thinks they can save? Wouldn't surprise me if the PTA's kids are sucking cock and eating pussy, too... and not just heterosexually.

 

My point, and it's a point I really wish I didn't have to make, is a lot of people who claim they are indifferent...aren't. And there are few, but enough, sinister people who have the money, political power, media skills, loud voices, etc. to manipulate the insecurities of these self proclaimed "champions of the LGBT community" into thinking their way long enough to push their sick agenda along. There's a reason a shitload of anti trans legislation has been permitted to slide by in recent years in the US and not only. And the escalation doesn't stop at legislation.
Can anti gay action potentially be close? I know you don't take out front page ads in major newspapers every time you spend five minutes having oral sex with a dude. In other words, you do your thing with someone else who's doing his thing with you, and you don't go out of your way to make it known to anyone else. No big deal. As it probably should be. Changing genders changes nothing, but that's another thought process. Getting back on track, how do you arrange this? This small but powerful, rich, loud majority wants to know when people are hooking up with the same gender. They think this is their business and they're taking steps to find out and cause havoc. Now you and I find ourselves looking over our shoulders more. We're carefully choosing our words in social media so we don't get in some kind of trouble, because now homosexual propaganda has been ruled anti American and anti Christian, and offensive against the heterosexual community (I'm going out on a limb but these assholes don't know limits very well). We can't just be anymore. Do we have to speak in bizarre code? Do queers now have to get weird cloud based chat clients that have heavy encryption that runs through a VPN on mars? Just because you wanna suck some dick in peace?
Let me put it another way. Would you feel comfortable writing half the things you write about fun with guys if you were in Russia or Saudi Arabia? It might not mean a death sentence in those countries but in some other countries it literally might. It's doubtful it would come to that in the good ol' US of A anytime soon, but it could get really shitty if we don't pay attention and don't look outside of our own dick.
And what does that do to your chances out there? You could be a solid, sure of yourself, proud cocksucker. But because the government has banned teaching of homosexual propaganda in schools (likely replacing the whole of the sex ed curriculum with abstinence only bullshit), pride parades (I know, kind of a contentious topic here), DEI, discrimination based on sexual orientation, etc., society has given rise to a generation of queers who are confused as fuck, half of whom are feverishly working on denying their queerness at all costs, including to themselves, a quarter of whom are gonna kill themselves because they can't live with what their oppressors say is wrong, wrong, wrong.
Again, I hate with a passion I even have to write this! But things have been getting shitty with this (and a lot of other things) in the past few years. I'm all for ignoring whatever shitstorm is going on, living your own life, and inviting others to live that life for a little while or longer. But there might be coming a time where bullies feel they need to run your life and need to impose their values on you, and will take drastic, and effective, measures to attempt to intrude on your privacy. Usually the root cause is a grift but sometimes they are that batshit crazy. But the cause is really irrelevant. What's relevant is to be aware this is happening, not necessarily let it affect your day to day life and your pursuit of happiness, but not let things get out of hand.
