When I was still building sites, I charged a flat fee of $400, to create and deploy a simple HTML Site with no moe than a total of four linked paged, each containing no more than four images, No Scripting or Automation.
Everything else was billed by the hour plus the cost of any scripts (eCommerce, etc.)

The one thing I can be certain of, is that your help would be completely genuine.

Not right now, but I would love to find a provider to host our email domain, without a package of items useless to us.
I have considered static IP and our own server, but that would cost a fortune and involve a business outlook subscription along with 24/7 operation of our systems.

I have absolutely no gain from this and it's straightforward honestly and would refer you to them where you can see what they do and always take the worst and hope for the best
Y wife (not legally married) and her husband Julio works in the digital marketing department of the company. You can contact me or I will get you their contact information. You probably heard of the mother company.

You can run a domain of your own on a shared (not dedicated) server for a few quid per month.
Several server providers offer that type of service (so I don;t need to name anyone in particular) and they're were all low-digit USD last time I looked.

You can run a website, database and email from it.

@Toker - any knowledge of how to set up a server in my room and connect it to the Internet? I'm guessing I'd need a fixed IP address from my broadband/fibre provider?

This could be a problem, since fibre runs at 3Gb. Providers who offer a lower speed are using a contention ratio. The most popular being 500Mb and a contention ratio of 6, therefore using dynamic IP.
Whatever you do, cross location software will use packet switch technology, with limited packet sizes and intervals. If this did not exist, the receiver's system could easily exceed it's RAM and run into virtual memory.
I often explain all this, as the digital equivalent of driving to work in a Ferrari, along a potholed winding county road, with a tractor in front of me.

I don't know nothing about technology or seo. All I can tell you is SEO and things of this type of nature like black magic. The good ones are the ones not available and the gypsies are the ones that will guarantee magic
If you are interested, I can introduce you to the person who heads this project so cut out the middle man. The company my girlfriend and sister both work is headquarters here but use overseas labor.

this post was 2 years ago, but if you worry about SEO Wordpress sites are over satured. When crawlers used to love them, they now hate the formatting of the HTML and you usually have to use outdated plugins.
If you make a site from scratch, and add your own "blogging" backend in php, for example like cute news (it is old) but it will help you with meta tags, and backlinks and all that random stuff

sorry cute news (CutePHP Content Management) wanted to help someone out, it offers los of features + looks more natural or (its not overly used) but it gives you a backend and ip banning, and other features and has a username so your "bloggers" can still login to get a posting on a forum experience and it automatically updates your homepage with php

It's ironic that we now need to run our emails thru a third party like Microsoft, not just to remove spam, but to validate your own outgoing emails as not being spam.

If you have email on a non-major domain, it's all viewed as spam. That's why we no longer require email validation to signup on the forums. Many emails from here were being filtered out by some spam services, specifically any emails to a Microsoft addy

Wilsane, I'm surprised you know all that, you've done your research! Yeah, you can get your own domain and email addy cheap on a shared server. I would only recommend that if you have a business. Otherwise just get a free Gmail account. That seems to work best for individuals without getting your email addy listed as spam.

BTW, the first post mentions hipplanet email, which we used to run thru a third party email service, which fucked us over big-time when they stopped spam filtering and our domain got penalized as a spam site.

The third party site gave out thousands of free hipplanet email addys to spammers. We had no control, unfortunately. They also sold those emails to other spammers, still allowing hundreds of spam emails to our server every day.

That third party email hosting biz went out of biz, but the bad rating on our site and server continues to this day even though that was about 20 years ago!

Alternatively, for people with a friends and family network of people, and multiple computers and media device in home, starting your own Email server is not out of the question and is surprisingly affordable.
WIth teh increasing availability of high speed internet for your home, you could open a server capable of nearly 100 email adresses, if you get a well equipped Raspberry PI and a 1TB SD Card for about $200 bucks. Most ISP's charcge about $15 a month for a static IP Address and I'm pretty sure you can still buy a domain for about $20 a year.

There are advantages to having an email server where everyone is using your domain for their email accounts. In theory, your domains email won't be visible to third parties since it stays on your server. So your emails won't get read or spammed by third parties.

But how many people are going to want to use another email account? If they don't already use your domain, they must setup new accounts and add them to their email reader.

I guess it all depends on how much privacy you really need.

Or they forward their current Email to their new Email Address. Even if they have multiple other Email Addresses, they can all be forwarded to the new one. This will also add another layer of proection since only the old email address iwll be exposed and responding will send it back through the original line. but your proprietay server filters income emails for spam or viruses.
