It appears that Trump has chickened out of his own demand.

He has indicated he won't go ahead with the extra tariffs and that some sort of agreement was reached about Greenland, but he didn't give details.

Whatever agreement he may have reached with Europe, it probably doesn't include Trump owning all of Greenland.

 

The Dow dropped 870 points because of Trump threats to Greenland.

"MEPs view the threat as a breach of the EU-US deal, which already imposes 15% US tariffs on EU goods while committing the bloc to cut its own tariffs on US industrial imports to 0%."

 

That's a lopsided agreement in favor of Trump. The agreement was already in place.

That wasn't enough for Trump. He had to threaten an extra 10 to 25 percent tariff on Europe for not going along with his quest to commandeer Greenland (or Iceland as a confused Trump calls it).

"NATO released a statement on Wednesday shortly after President Donald Trump announced he and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte had “formed’ a “framework” for a deal on Greenland. The NATO statement came amid new reporting from the New York Times that the deal may include the U.S. being given “sovereignty over small pockets” of land in Greenland."

According to MS Now, a prepare-to-deploy order was issued Tuesday for members of an Army military police brigade stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. It comes days after the Pentagon issued a similar order for two battalions with the Army’s 11th Airborne Division. The owners of Mischief Toy Store in St. Paul say they were hit with a "retaliatory audit" Friday, just hours after ABC News aired a story on the store's effort to equip the community with whistles.

Abigail Adelsheim-Marshall, who co-owns the Grand Avenue business with her parents, Dan Marshall and Millie Adelsheim, told the network the whistles are a non-violent form of protest and a way for community members to alert their neighbors to the presence of U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE) agents.

 

The public is using whistles to notify people when ICE is raiding their neighborhood.
