You are obviously free to believe anything you wish to believe. What do you care what other people think even if their beliefs are different from yours? , Are you needing a "win "of some kind? I'll chip in ---YOU WIN!!

    Nailed it.

“By examining observational data dating back to 1960, the research team discovered that the mid-depth warming trend that spiked in the late 2000s, indicating that the AMOC’s decline began in the late 20th century.

Should the AMOC slow down too much, they claim, it could have significant ramifications. These include the extreme suggestion that temperatures across Europe to drop by nearly 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

Winters would be more typical of Arctic Canada and precipitation would decrease, also,” Jonathan Bamber, a professor of Earth observation at the University of Bristol, told the Daily Mail.

Coincidentally, the last time the AMOC collapsed was before the last Ice age that ended about 12,000 years ago, Reuters reported.”

The point is that L.A. is experiencing heavy rainfall, extreme storms, due to climate change. The city is AGAIN flooding. Fires and floods in California are now ordinary occurrences.
High real estate prices in CA are due to developers running amok, unregulated mostly, building no affordable housing, only high-end stuff.
California leads the nation in many ways, and is a shining example of the superiority of Democratic policies over putrid quasi-fascist RepubliQanism which creates crapholes like Mississippi and West Virginia.

That is the typically convoluted and WRONG thinking of climate deniers. Somehow warming gases are NOT causing warming?
The AMOC shut down when the meltwater in Canada hit the North Atlantic, which triggered the Younger Dryas, a severe COOLING period.
You really need to learn some science, and reading white-right MAGAt critiques of Al Gore doesn't cut it.

Curious as to the level of The Salton Sea? Are they getting enough rain to boost the level of this Lake? It has been losing water for a while due to climate issues.

A shining example of Democratic policies yet 24% homelessness? Can’t fix bias I guess.

So are we heading into Global Warming or an Ice Age???? Make up your minds already.

Science works by averages and probabilities.
When we read that water boils at 212° Fahrenheit most people assume that is a scientific law.
They assume that water must always boil at 212° Fahrenheit...because science says so.

What they fail to understand is that the statement that water boils at 212° Fahrenheit is a statement of the temperature that water will boil in a specific instance. It is used as a reference for the common man to use when they wish to boil water.
It is not a hard scientific fact.

There are no hard scientific facts.
A science denier, who doesn't understand the nature of science, may point out that they read a paper that found that water boils at 193.64°F.
Therefore the science of boiling water is wrong.
They don't understand, and fail to make the effort to understand, the true nature of how, when, and why water boils.

    Same with climate change.

Are we heading into Global Warming or an Ice Age? Which is it?

Also, Chemistry has a lot of “ideal laws” than can waiver but generally speaking Physics does not.

“There are no hard scientific laws” simply is not true. If you step off a cliff, you WILL fall to the ground.

Don't know... I'm not in California any more.
A bit to the north, Lake Tulare reappeared in the San Joaquín Valley, due to all the rain.

You cannot make that connection. CA has a lot of homelessness because people go there for the weather. CA has a huge population and the idea that 24% is homeless is just the sort of nonsense any braindead MAGAt would believe. CA is RICH! Homelessness is due to the flawed of unregulated capitalism more than anything else. Try regulating unchecked development in CA and see how far you get with developers throwing billions into elections to stop it.

Inform yourself before gurgling nonsense, please.

Thanks for displaying that in fact you are abysmally ignorant of all matters relevant to climate change. We have a mountain of facts demonstrating global warming. The ice is f'ing melting, is it not? Yes, worldwide. Oceans are hotter, hence the increase in storm severity. Species are declining in most places, and some drastically. Marine life is in crisis.

Oh but if we try to address it we're stepping on your right to dump greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and motor oil into the stream, right? Utterly dysfunctional and demonstrating a complete lack of responsibility for your own actions.

All scientific laws are general laws.
If I step off a cliff on Earth and I weigh more than the atmosphere can support, without an updraft that has sufficient force to counteract the downward force of Earth's gravity, and I'm not wearing a Bell Rocket Belt or some other means of lift, I will fall to the ground, or perhaps water, a tree, etc.

Further, if I step off a cliff a cliff on some hypothetical planet, asteroid, moon, etc. that has little or no gravity, I may not fall to the ground.

Citing that you will always fall to the ground if you step of a cliff is incorrect, and just a general assumption which is correct most of the time, and a very useful assumption as you go about your everyday life; but in every specific instance may not be true.

See what many don't get is that if the dangers of human made climatic changes are real and we don't do anything about it...we suffer the consequences.

On the other hand if the dangers of human made climatic changes are NOT real (which they are) and we do something about it anyway, all we've done is perhaps cause some temporary monetary discomfort while ending up with a cleaner, healthier environment.

It's like wearing seat belts. You may never need them, but it's better to take precautions.

Exactly. I mean WHY NOT run on sun, wind and hydrogen?? Do we expect to be here in one hundred years? 5oo years? A thousand years? The sooner we invalidate the profit motive on oil and gas, the better off we AND the earth will be. Save the rest of the oil for lubrication uses.

Ok so then try it. Or look up “scientific laws”. Gravity has its way on every planet, by the way. I don’t believe there’s one planet where you’re gonna float in the air lol. Geez guys it’s called Science.

What the hell was this word salad response???
    :laughing::laughing:

And it’s not 24% of California. It’s 24% of the United States, leading the charge in homelessness.

According to you, we’re simultaneously warming the planet AND heading into an Ice Age, California is beautiful AND a shithole, California is rich AND full of homelessness because of the “beautiful weather” that’s simultaneously a disaster due to Climate Change, and California being rich is a problem due to unfettered Capitalism while also having extremely Left-Wing Democrat policies, absurdly high taxation, and cost of living.

    Makes sense bro :laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:
